Come on. You’re reaching. Prostitutes are on their knees so they’ll look like children? They’re hookers. They kneel for other reasons.

What I'm saying is for a brief moment Kubrick was trying to show you this involves kids. Watch the scene again and pretend like you have never seen it before and they appear to be children.

He couldn't actually use kids because of the following scenes, but that's what's really going on.

Seeing as how I saw it in the theater and didn't think for a second that they were children, watching it again with your statements in mind would negate any "revelation".

Probably because you had seen the trailer.

These freaks are into kids not hookers. I think he got invited into that world and noped out real quick. That's when he became a semi-recluse.

There's paintings of children on the wall in the orgy scene. Some people interpret the ending as the two old guys in the toy store taking Tom and Nicole's daughter to be a sex slave or whatever. Here's a 30 minute video on the pedo themes if anyone's really interested

Enh.

This is a bit of stretch but people are going to buy into it as long as they get to slander a group they don't like.

Liberals are part of a giant pedophile cannibal sex cult!

Please pay no attention to conservatives posing with this convicted child molester.

Really it comes down to something that Lindsay Ellis brought up in her review of the final season collapse of Game of Thrones. Power does not corrupt.

Power reveals. When you have a lot of power, be it money, political power, or what have you, you can finally be the a-hole you want to be. You want to cheat on your wife in the Oval Office with a chubby intern? Go right ahead. You want to raw dog a porn star just a few months after your wife had your baby? It is all good.

It is not that the "ruling" class is more immoral than the rest of us, most immoral things are being done by people who aren't rich enough to wipe their behinds with hundred dollar bills. It is that extreme wealth gives those people even more opportunities to indulge themselves.

Give a good, honest, person a ton of money and they will be a good, honest, person with a ton of money and probably wind up donating most of it. Give a scumbag... like me... a ton of money and I'll cheerfully blow it on hookers and make Caligula look like an amateur. I'll probably donate some to charity too but let us pretend I don't have that character flaw.

This isn't a Republican or Democrat issue. It's powerful people across multiple countries, and it's not just politicians.

I think most of the sex guys like Epstein, and Weinstein had with celebrity wannabes is like the scene where Lana Turner's character goes to a modeling agency in 1959's Imitation of Life. That kind of thing has been going on forever. Another old movie that featured casting couch scenes is The Carpetbaggers, from 1964. It stars George Peppard, Carol Baker and Elizabeth Ashley.

I grew up knowing this stuff went on, and, as a youngster, dreamed of being in position to partake in the system. Livng through the 80's with money in Dallas, made that kind of life possible. It wasn't as great as I thought it would be, but as Scratch told Willie Brown in 1986's Crossroads, "Ain't nothin' ever as good as we want it to be."

Exactly. The true people in power don't give a shite about politics or political parties. They simply want to control everything and everybody while indulging themselves in whatever they want

No reasonable person who understands how the real world works seriously questions this (or should).

His associate, Ms. Maxwell's family background is all you really need to know if you do have questions.

The only remaining question is: "Whose asset was Epstein? Was he working for us, Israel or was he a freelancing independent operator?" Any of the three answers is simultaneously disappointing and terrifying.

This. Anyone trying to make this about one political party is retarded.

Which is why I did not make it about either political party.

Both examples of people being assholes were taken from a Democrat President and a Republican President. I will let you guess who they were.

But we want to believe that power will turn someone into a monster. No. It won't. No matter how much folks want to believe that it will.

Power will you be the person you want to be. And for a lot of folks that person might very well be a monster.

Rich people are no more immoral than the rest of us no matter how much we want to say they are. The "elite" is no more vulgar in their tastes then your local farmer. The difference is they have the money to indulge in what they want.

Character is who you are in the dark. Well when you become wealthy you can mostly count on what you do being in the dark.

We want to think the elite, the wealthy, the top of the herd, are these monsters who routinely indulge themselves of the most debased pleasures. They aren't. They are people, like you and I, who just happen to have a shite ton of money or power. When you can do whatever you want, we rapidly see what you want to do. For better or worse.

Only difference with eyes wide shut and reality is it’s not grown women who are used in these orgy parties, it’s children

Nobody's saying that. There are plenty of powerful people that are great. I believe Kubrick got invited in and got out when he understood what was happening.

There are some powerful people that have been doing this a long time that can open doors for other like minded people willing to participate.

This is the truth. It's not like wealth changes things like pedophilia.

Wealthy people just have the means to act out baser impulses in a different way than poorer people do, but I don't think that makes deviancy any more or less prevalent.

People who act like either political party has immorality locked down make me laugh. Pols on both sides of the aisle get busted doing things no one should approve of.

Eyes Wide Shut now seems tame compared Epstein’s Island.

Not remotely, but if you read the various analyses of the film and its numerous symbols and messages, it's impossible to come to any other conclusion. When he died before the premiere, they cut several minutes from the film. Of all the director's cuts I'd love to see, this one is number one with a bullet.

My personal feelings are that if going to pedo island or wherever and fricking a bunch of kids is the most success and highest status a person can achieve, we are a fricking failed species.

And they want to be inside a fenced compound, guarded by former special ops guys (think Blackwater), when the sh*t hits the fan. Operators with a little knowledge of Inbound & Outbound transportation, Fleet management, and Demand planning will be running things.

The costume shop owner is pimping his 15 yr old daughter, Leelee Sobieski. A big point of the movie is that sex is ugly - AIDS, jealousy, infidelity, prostitution, power.
