Does Deadwood have the best dialogue of any show?

Doing a rewatch and this show’s script/dialogue is just top notch.

Unless you're a San Francisco cocksucker

I would add: some of the best casting, acting, cinematography, lighting, sets, and wardrobe. Just all around great, except for the fact that they ended it too soon.
I was pumped about the Deadwood movie, but it was just OK.

No but enjoyable after you turn on subtitles

Billions has some fantastic dialogue.

I’m convinced Mr. Wu could speak English. Just chose to play it like he couldn’t.

Al Swearengen could speak circles around those hoopleheads.

It’s really solid in the sense that it immerses you in the time period and location exceedingly well while still being entertaining.
Hard to beat Justified, though. Just exceptionally well written dialogue that, despite being set in an Appalachian locale with quasi-Southern characters, manages to not trend into cliche at really any point. Even when Boyd goes full Bible thumper, the dialogue makes that part of his arc seem fresh and original despite it being a trope. Reflects that the writers understand the rules and know how to break them to great effect.
Both are fantastic.

Ooh Fargo is another good one. Succession is solid, too

To this day he is probably my favorite TV character of all time. Definitely top three at a minimum.

Deadwood has too many great lines to even count. Not as many great lines, but Justified is right up there. Maybe even has my favorite line in TV history:
Wynn Duffy : Deputy, are you accusing me of being a fake blonde? Because if you need me to prove it to you I might be inclined to break you over that step-ladder, ride you down like a teaser-pony and paint this room an entirely different color.

And startin’ tomorrow morning, I will offer a personal $50 bounty for every decapitated head of as many of these godless heathen cocksuckers as anyone can bring in. Tomorrow. With no upper limit! That’s all I say on that subject, ‘cept next round’s on the house. And God rest the souls of that poor family. And pussy’s half price, next 15 minutes.
