Detectorists is the best comedy on TV right now, easily.

Love this show.

The Office and Extras by Ricky Gervais are both quite good.

I'm jumping in late here, but British TV is almost exclusively what I watch, though more drama than comedy. I definitely second Black Books from about 15 years ago, and of course the classic early 90's Jeeves and Wooster - a Wodehouse turn of phrase never loses the appeal.

As far as casting goes, that's really why I switched to Brit TV. Although I think they only have a pool of actors they rotate through everything, but performances are always top notch. Most of American TV just seems...plastic and photoshopped. The Brits mostly leave them to look like real people.

Anyway, my 2 cents. Enjoy the show.

It has gotten barely tolerable, maybe 5 minutes max.

Peep Show is definitely up there, as is The IT Crowd and Simon Pegg's very short-lived "Spaced".

Well, Fawlty Towers is the funniest show of all time. So I'm going to say a while.

British humor is so much better than American for some reason.

British humor is derived from Watchung the actors, plots, and situations. You are kind of looking into a window.

American Humor is actors delivering punchlines to an audience.

It's a big difference.

From the Germans episode

Basil Fawlty: Is there something wrong?

German Guest: Will you stop talking about the war?

Basil Fawlty: Me? You started it.

German Guest: We did not!

Basil Fawlty: Yes, you did. You invaded Poland.

How are you people not listing The Goode Life aka Good Neighbors. Great little comedy with one of the darkest finales in comedy history...well, other than MASH.

Started watching Doc.

Louisa is too damn hot for him and not sure why she is so insecure.

Up to season 3. Doc just walked in on his 70 year old aunt getting plowed.
