I must be getting old, because this show is funny. Honest ,Sincere laughter..nothing overly cheap.

Does it stay the same through out or does it jump sharks and lose its execution?

I've watched every season, it's a great show. Nice small cast and everyone nails it.

Sometimes it's nice to watch a show that isn't overly stuffed character story-wise and soap opera illogical.

I love that show! British humor is so much better than American for some reason.
I also think the British do casting based on talent more so than looks so that may be why.

Great show! There are some truly great British comedies out there, including this one.

Detectorists is the best comedy on TV right now, easily.

Moone Boy is one of my favorites as well.

IT crowd is pretty funny.

Yes minister is simply brilliant.

The Wrong Mans is hilarious and has movie-like production value.

makes me wonder chicken or the egg

Is it that the US casts superficially, or that the patrons respond to superficiality?

Look at telemundo/Spanish channels with all the buxom girls. Maybe it's the class of the people that determine the "talent"

Honestly I'm finding the current season to be the show at its best.

It has always been funny. Some of my first laughs were to Monty Python , Good Neighbors and whatever else PBS was showing. Forgot Fawlty Towers.

But, they have just as many clunkers as the US.

When you put together a list of the TOP British comedies of all time, they span about 40 years.

There are tons of fan tours that go to Cornwall - to walk around Port Isaac and go to all the locations.

Apparently it really is an old sleepy small village - population 721 - full of older people like on the show - the average age is 43.

I just saw Saving Grace the other night. It was fulmed there as well. Martin Clunes, Craig Ferguson were in it.

My mom watches this show on PBS. I find Doc to be funny when he lets people have it. Louisa is way too hot for him though.

Louiser and her kankles vs the best surgeon in all of London? Ellington is slumming it.

His "surgery" (office) has the poors and he's afraid of blood Louiser is fine and could do better.

Louisa is a keeper.

She can put up with Martin, so she's the good-looking non-crazy wife.

Louisa makes Doc look sane and normal by comparison.

Little Britain might be the funniest show in history....... Doc Martin is OK, but there is much better.
Keeping up appearances
