Star Wars have "been out on star wars" since the prequels, yet they always show up.
It is true, until it isn't.
I am having a tough time figuring out if you are serious. The last SW show we had flopped so badly they cancelled an entire slate's production schedule
Trends are trends
TFA 2 billion
TLJ 1.4 billion
RoS 1.0 billion
Spinoffs
Rogue One 1 billion
Solo 390 million
Mando and Grogu will probably make money, but will it be successful?
Tough to say. People steadily bailed on the show.
Like I said in the earlier post. It really depends on children wanting to see "baby yoda"
Hell the last SW game sold so poorly it made Ubisoft reorganize their company
SW, like the MCU, is not as popular today as it was in 2019

I like Favreau, so I hope he knocks it out of the park. But I'm just not seeing much hype for this film. What are your predictions for it?
I think it’ll do somewhere around $500M. Kids will go see it for sure and most diehard fans will as well.
Personally, I can’t wait to go see it. Yeah season 3 was down from the first two, but I still enjoyed the show and I’ll never miss a Star Wars movie in theaters.

They're making the Thrawn Trilogy?

all signs and trends point to this movie being stupid and a flop, but Favreau is something of an x-factor here. while i dont THINK it will happen, i can see the possbility of this being a surprisingly good movie

Star Wars is dead unless something radical happens. I was a HUGE fan but The Last Jedi killed the whole thing for me, I’ll never likely watch another Star Wars movie in the theater.
Same. I haven’t watched anything since that movie. Still haven’t seen the last one and don’t care to see it.

The marketing for this one has been weird and mostly muted. Disney took the most hardcore fanbase in sci-fi and wasted it on stupidity. I don't know if they'll ever get back to the cultural events that were Star Wars releases and this one certainly won't be the one to do it.

This might be a dumb question, I'm not really a SW guy
Andor was a smash hit and a lot of non-SW people liked it. Why wouldn't they make more content in that style?

Starfighter is probably going to lean heavily in that direction. With Gosling attached it's the best hope Disney has of trying to right the ship but they have burned up all their goodwill for cinematic releases.

Yeah, that makes sense.
I didn't know the Gosling movie existed (or will) until I opened this thread. My first reaction is that I will see that and take my son. My second reaction is that I have no idea what Grogu is and have zero interest in that film.
And look, I get a lot of this stuff isn't for me and that's fine, but it certainly seems like there is a pretty obvious path that combines giving real SW fans good, substantive productions and gives people like me a reason to dip a toe in, no? Andor struck me as that, but maybe purists didn't like it, Idk.

Not really. It’s what he is calling the movie that will end the storylines he has been setting up in Mandalorian and Ahsoka.

Andor was the best Star Wars production that Disney has done but was not watched by many people ironically enough. That stems from the apathy that set in after TLJ took a blowtorch to one of the most beloved characters of all time and the patronizing tone of Kathleen Kennedy and company towards the existing fanbase.

I have no intention on going to see it at the movies. May watch it on streaming. I think Disney realizes it's going to be a bust at the theater and most people will catch it on streaming. The concept of the show isn't made for an hour and a half to two hour movie.

It cost $650 million and had relatively low viewership compared to the other SW shows. It’s a masterpiece compared to those shows, but not enough people watched it to justify the costs.

i truly believe there is a large contingent at Disney who truly refuse to make movies and shows taht they KNOW will be popular with the fans simply out of spite. Nerdrotic and Critical Drinker liked Andor and said Disney should just make more content like that, and if they make more content like that, then that proves the the "racist online trolls" were right, and they simply cant have that.

Had it been after the second season of Mandalorian instead of third it would have done gang busters. The second season finale was the best star Wars in 40 years.

I guess I just conflated buzz with popularity, surprised to hear from you guys that it wasn't that well watched. That's lame

Make KOTOR like Amazon did with Fallout and D+ would start popping. It's right there in front of them and they won't do anything with it.
