The annual fee is $695 which is very high but we "run the numbers" every year to see if it is worth it.
It has the travel benefits like lounge access etc. but also comes with things like cell phone insurance and offers that can add up. Then there are credits like the streaming, Uber(Uber Eats) etc. It all depends and everyone would have to decide based on their usage and "return on investment". Sometimes you can get a retention bonus to counteract the annual fee if you call and ask and threaten to cancel.
When we no longer see the value and cancel the card we will probably cancel most of the services covered by the card which is my point. The services are nice but not necessary. They have reduced themselves to a value addon.

I just cancelled my platinum and kept my gold and blue preferred. Blue preferred gets 6% on groceries while my gold gets 4 mp on food.
The platinum I just couldn’t justify and their retention offer was shite. They offered to let me use my mp at .01 to pay the fee. The $20 a month streaming just had me looking for something to add since I do d+ annually. The Uber credit had me just ordering Uber eats and overpaying for that to use it.

I find some of the attitude here and the downvotes fascinating. As most of the replies show, people are accustomed to receiving the content for "free" as an addon and are willing to pay for 1 or 2 services. There will obviously be consolidation and the streamers will have a hard time raising prices too much.

We have until the end of the year to decide. I've heard the retention bonuses have been hard to receive or low. This might be the year that it gets the axe, will probably be my wife's travel outlook that tips it one way or the other. If we do cancel we might keep the Disney bundle. Walmart+ is nice, I haven't been to a Walmart in 2 years so might keep that with P+.

I just did a quick check to see where we stand so far this year.
Walmart+ $14.24 a month is $170.88yr
We would definitely keep this since I hate going to Walmart and you don't have to worry about minimums for the shipping items and delivery minimum is $35 which these days is easy to hit with groceries.
Disney bundle $14.99mo 179.88 yr
Most likely keep this since we watch Disney+ a good bit, the wife likes HULU and ESPN+ gives WBB and baseball coverage. I would hate to get rid of the bundle since the one we have is no longer available for new signups.
Shopping credits so far $140
Planning on using Fubu Tv for football(at least 2 months of it) $25mo credit for Sept and Oct will be $50
That's around $540 so far and doesn't count the Paramount+ and Peacock credits, cell phone insurance, lounge access, Uber credits and any future shopping credits and we have 6 months to go.

I watch Max on one of my son's accounts. He put it on the TV while he was living with us waiting for his house purchase to close. We do have Amazon Prime video through our Prime account, so I guess I do pay for that.

Add Hoopla and Kanopy and that would satisfy probably 90% of my consuming needs.
Then just rotate 1-2 other services when they're on sale or for free trials

It still gets you all the listed providers. The Paramount+ doesn't come out of the streaming amount since it comes with Walmart+ that is covered under a different credit. Only downside is Walmart doesn't give you a way to upgrade to ad free. Peacock on a Black Friday deal keeps you under the limit.
I would never suggest getting one just for the streaming credit. You have to judge the overall valve.

Yeah. I put free in quotes to try to convey the message but I guess some people can't keep up. Just because you pay $695 annual fee for a credit card doesn't make it a bad value. It all depends on the value received. Math isn't too hard if you apply yourself.

I definitely pay too much. I need to do an audit of my services and see where I can pick up so better deals or possibly eliminate excess that I could already get in other manners.

Same for us with Netflix. Went almost two years waiting on them to do some kind of discount. Finally got tired of wife and kids.
Amazon has some good discounts on several of their prime channels for the next two months.
That will get me to football season. Then I'll have to pay for ESPN.
