Finally had time to watch the two episodes this weekend. Overall I really like this and is the 2nd best live action Star Wars Disney has done so far. Rogue One still beats it by a bit for me while everything else has been disappointing.

I really like that they have tons of options with multiple stories to write great things. Let's hope they can deliver with a full arc. Acting has been pretty good. As others have said I feel like the episodes need to hit the 40-45 min mark. 30 just seems too short for a series like this. The score is underwhelming probably because with Star Wars we've come to expect the best.

I'm starting to feel like an abused wife with Star Wars though. I'm really liking it but concerned that these interesting concepts will fall flat or just a ploy to get me into the theater in December (especially the baby of yoda's race. My wife tolerates Star Wars because of the cute things like R2-D2, BB-8, and now she loves this baby Yoda as I'm sure most girls and kids will. But it's also very interesting from a story standpoint because Luke has to sense and be looking for this thing right?) I want this to be good but I can't just ignore past garbage.

In the CW series they laid a pretty good foundation on what actually happened and made Anakin I thought the smarter of all the Jedi as he seem to be the only figuring out the Jedi were being setup. Even though he did turn in the end.

This makes me want to start the clone wars animated series. Now that Disney+ is up and running, what order would I need to watch all that is on there assuming it is all canon?

Edited my post bc I found answer on Google:

1.Star Wars: The Phantom Menace
2.Star Wars: Attack of the Clones
3. The Clone Wars animated movie
4. The Clone Wars animated series
5.Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
6.Solo: A Star Wars Story
7. Star Wars: Rebels animated series
8.Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
9.Star Wars: A New Hope
10.Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
11.Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
12.The Mandalorian
13. Star Wars: Resistance season 1
14.Star Wars: The Force Awakens
15.Star Wars: The Last Jedi
16. Star Wars: Resistance season 2

To me the score is one of the strongest things about the Mandalorian.

The music has been legit to me and matches the tone of the show perfectly.

Love it.

Im surprised how many have been disappointed in it but I believe they are trying to hear those certain Star Wars sounds of old but Mandalorian has a completely different tone from the movies IMO.

The newer Star Wars films use the original score as a crutch.

You can force nostalgic emotion with a needle-drop.

Favreau ain't playin' that.

I watched it with someone who hadn't seen it last night, and she said the same thing. She thought it has a very different tone than Star Wars.

I think that's what makes it great. It doesn't bash you over the head with OT references.

But there are still a metric shite-ton of little OT references if you know where to look. Nerd fan service if you will that the general audience will have no clue about.

You broadly answered your question in your edit, but I just started watching the Clone Wars series on Disney+ and found that there is a fan recommended order to watch them, which I've been trying to follow.

LINK

The show *can* be watched as it was aired of course, but the overall story is told out of order. I've read explanations for why they did this, but it still seems like a bad decision. The "Ultimate" order linked above apparently gives you the story chronologically and saves some good surprises that may be ruined by watching it in the standard episode order.

"I'm a Mandalorian. Weapons are part of my religion."

However the Mandalorian people class their warriors, its clear that our protagonist is not a full fledged Mandalorian Warrior. Which is great. He gets ambushed by Jawas with stunguns. He gets his arse handed to him by the rhino beast thing.

We get to watch him grow as a character and a warrior. The show wouldn't be as much fun if he was a complete badass, in complete control of every situation he comes across.

This guy (Youtube)makes shows you how to make a Boba Fett and Mandalorian helmet out of foam. Just in case you want to role play with the wife or something.

I know Netflix still owns season 6, and since the first five seasons were on Cartoon Network, they probably still own the rights as well.

Disney is picking up the series for two more seasons in 2020, so maybe that's when they expect to have the rights back?

It's on there. They have all 6 seasons, as well as Star Wars Rebels. If you click on the Star Wars box, its under series.

Yes all 6 seasons are already on Disney+ and the new season launches on Disney+ in January.

Clones Wars(animated) to me was great because it added so much back story to the movies. It does a great job of showing Anakin in a better light then the movies which made him look like a spoiled brat. The series shows the struggles he endured and at times understand why he became who he did because the Jedi were blinded by their arrogance.

It also gave characters like Count Dooku and General Grievous much more depth in their roles. Dooku I really like in the series. Not to mention you learn the story line of Darth Maul and his people.

Vulnerability is what makes heroes interesting. They need to have flaws or weaknesses.

I really wish Disney+ had a more complete browsing tool.

They only show a limited amount of movies in any given sub-category, which sucks for people like my computer-illiterate mom who barely knows how to use the search tool and doesn't know there are movies on there she would enjoy since she doesn't care for Star Wars or Marvel.

Hell, there are probably lesser-known movies on there that I don't know about that I'd like. Difference is, I can find a resource on the net that lists everything Disney has made/uploaded.

Mandalorian video game that’s basically Red Dead Redemption set in space. Cool story but open world bounty hunting too with tons and tons of side quests
Lucas Arts would frick that game up like every other game they have done.
