then why didn't it just make Shmi Skywalker give birth to Rey instead of Anakin? Seems logical to avoid all the death and devastation of it taking the scenic route towards balance
ummm...you're a racist

Does this take place as the same time as Rebels or after?

This is a great experiment to see if its the actor or the writing
How often do we get to see a huge character play the same role with a totally different staff

I'm sure it'll be flashbacks, and not in the suit, so he has a chance for redemption.
I would think it just about has to be flashbacks. I don’t think there is anyway Obi Wan and Vader will encounter each other, as Vader indicates in ‘A New Hope’ that he hasn’t seen Obi Wan since they fought.
Well, reading through the thread, it sounds like they’ll fight. Screw continuity, I guess.

Did you see the producer? She doest give a shite about star wars lore.
Same person who produced Rouge One and The Mandalorian which this board loves. I guess those don't count.

The funny thing about the whole force is female bs is thst they did create a female character properly. Asokha is probably one of the most important characters with a ton of potential yet to go

Forget about kk. Chow is from the Favreau/Filoni tree. Got to have faith in them.

Frankly, I’m excited to see which racially ambiguous/gender fluid child actor is cast to play young Luke.

Why does Hayden Christensen not look the same in any two pictures?

Absolutely. I think it’s stupid, but definitely not surprising.
Yep. If it is anything more than some type of dream/force vision/flashback type scenario, I’ll be really upset. It will just cheapen ANH so much.

Deborah Chow is directing this
She is the showrunner for it, though Kathleen Kennedy will likely do what she has done with The Mandalorian and "produce" in order to take as much credit as possible.
Chow, it should be remembered, was Favreau's ace in the hole director for the first season of Mando. Considering how quickly she landed Obi-Wan I think he brought her on board with the intention of Chow getting her own series as quickly as possible.
I am reasonably optimistic about Chow's ability to deliver a quality product. The one thing that worries me is that she doesn't have Fav and Filoni's standing with the company to help her fend off any "advice" from the more toxic elements of Lucasfilm.
