Absolutely. I think it’s stupid, but definitely not surprising.

Seems like it...unless the rematch is just part of Obi Wan having a dream or a vision.

All that s said is “when last me met I was but the leaner... now I’m the master.”

Obi could have boat raced his arse again with the high ground until Anakin finally learns 14 years after this.

Yep. Everyone assumes A New Hope is the first time they've seen each other since Mustafar, but that's never actually said. Vader sense a presence he hasn't sensed in a while, they never say how long.

Is Favreau doing this one?

Hopefully, they also need Dave Filoni involved.

Does this take place as the same time as Rebels or after?

The only way this works is if Obi-wan doesn’t know that Anakin is in the suit until their confrontation. From the end of ROTS until their encounter he could believe he is dead. Then he learns that Anakin is alive and Vader and Anakin are one in the same and that’s why he’s not surprised to encounter him on the Death Star.

Or like someone said, a dream/nightmare encounter.

there will be a "rematch" between Obi-Wan and Vader

This is the only thing that worries me.

It completely devalues the "when I left you, I was but the learner. Now, I am the master" saying.

Vader is supposed to be looking for Obi Wan ever since the last time he saw him on Mustafar. Him hunting down jedi is to try to find a lead on where he is.

Having them fight each other takes away the gravity of Vader's 30 year wait filled with pure hatred for him.

Good cast but but Ep. 1 had

Liam Neeson
Ewan McGregor
Nat Portman
Ian McDerimid
Samuel L
Kiera Knighly

And still ended up a terrible piece of shite.

I just threw out the random number of 30 but 19 years go by between RotS and ANH

Vader shouldn't see Obi Wan within that time frame if we're looking for continuity.

Concept art seemingly confirmed it will indeed be a lightsaber battle, showing the pair crossing laser swords once more

Doesn't this directly conflict with the first film?

That is from the first film.

LINK ]Neither are really strong in the Force

quote:

rumor has claimed that the Captain Marvel star will play a Jedi named Maeve in a Star Wars series set in a brand new timeline that would see her character established as being more powerful than Darth Vader and Rey combined. The plot will reportedly focus on her tracking down a mysterious MacGuffin that controls the very essence of the Force, while there are naturally bad guys hot on her tail.

then why didn't it just make Shmi Skywalker give birth to Rey instead of Anakin? Seems logical to avoid all the death and devastation of it taking the scenic route towards balance
