A popular character's merch selling at theme parks should be attributed to the movies and shows they were in that made that character popular, not attributed to whatever most recent movie or show exists with that character.

The dude is lying thru his teeth. There are no rides at any park featuring Moana. And the Madalorian "ride" is onboard the Falcon, which has no connection to Mando. Its Han Solos vehicle. People arent buying tickets to board Hans ship just to ride with Grogu.

That doesn't necessarily mean merch sales are down. The move is being done to connect merchandise design with film and television production from the start rather than being separate entities.

That isn't a $200 million dollar loss, that is $200 million short of a projection.
You are making assumptions about merch, and there doesn't have to be a Moana ride for a kid's love of Moana to drive their family to the parks.
Same with the idea that a stock being down means the company is losing money. Netflix's stock keeps struggling, and it remains the most profitable streamer, and it isn't close.

I took our oldest to see Super Mario Galaxy awhile back. While we were waiting for our popcorn a guy who looked like he stepped right out of a neckbeard nerd meme came to the concession stand and said he was there last week and bought the smaller Mando collectible popcorn button but that they didn’t have the big one. He asked if they had gotten any in yet, the worker told him yes, gave him a price, and nerd guy forked over the $80 or however much it was without missing a beat. This shite has got some folks in a stranglehold.
