Robert Stack's cameo might be my favorite in the movie.

100% yes, the funniest part of the movie

Unsolved Mysteries: Coop Cooper

I don't know where the hell he is. For all I care, he could be hanging by his neck in his fricking closet.

Scenario #1: He's hanging by his neck in his fricking closet

I saw this in theaters and remember being completely disgusted by the gay kiss scene at the end. It went from funny to weird to just gross because it just kept going and going on and on.

The opening bit about sports teams moving all over the place in search of greater profits to where it doesn't make sense is one of my favorite bits from a movie. "the Lakers moved from Minnesota to Los Angeles, where they don't have lakes" "the jazz moved from New Orleans to Utah, where they don't allow music" "the oilers from Huston to Tennessee, where there is no oil"

It was funny but I expected more from the creators of South Park

The writer and director was David Zucker (of Zucker Abrams Zucker, the writers of Airplane! and the Naked Gun series).

Trey and Matt were mostly just actors in it, but had creative input. This was in 1998 and they though South Park was likely to get cancelled so they took it as an opportunity to jump into acting.

Part of why it fell flat with many movie goers was the comedy styles didn't mesh well among the more 'refined' viewers, and a "toned down" version of the South Park guys didn't sell well in the era where South Park was nearly just straight vulgarity.

BASEketball is hilarious and actually a really sharp commentary on the sports industry.

Truly a movie and sport ahead of its time. ESPN now airs the world Cornhole championships for Christ’s sake and Cornhole is basecally Baseketball.

The psych out with the "how to speak San Franciscan" would have countless people losing their shite.

Baseketball and Orgazmo were my go-to movies in college. Those two and Boogie Nights.

If you’re a fan of Trey and Matt, check out Cannibal! The Musical. Pre-South Park production.

Just found Baseketball on Starz Encore Classics. Curious to see if this holds up at all or if it was mostly just gross out.

Love the 90s cast though, with Yasmine and Jenna.

how it holds up today

It doesn’t “hold up today”, that would imply it faded in some way.

It’s holding up the tradition of quality 90s comedies.

I'm a huge fan of South Park but didn't like it. It just wasn't funny to me. Sorry.
