I watched it. Thought it was a good start for a 10 year hiatus. Have to expect a bit a character development with there being such a big gap.

I thought it was...ok. I was waiting the whole time wondering where the narration was, then his switch flipped. I'm guessing the oil guy will be the main target.

Yeah same.
The episode tag line said “Dexter is back, can The Passenger be far behind?” so we were waiting to hear it. I kind of wish the classic violin style music would have come back as soon as the voiceover started up. Other than that I actually thought the music was done really well.
Looking forward to how this plays out. Not sure about the Harrison actor yet.
Also is Hannah listed in the cast? Kind of sucks that she wouldn’t be back. If Harrison was able to track him down you have to think Hannah could have.
I liked Deb being back, but damn it isn’t the same without Harry.
ETA: What a weird OP. I really hope this doesn’t become the season long thread

Last 10-15 mins kept me so I’ll try to stick with it, but couldn’t help but notice the first half hour featured:
Female police chief
Black people living in Alaska (or wherever they are)
Gay married couple running a gun/hunting supply business
Global warning debate
Gun control debate
Big business evil white oil guy villain
Pretty much covered all the woke bases in 30 mins. Just need some racism and we’ll have them all.
Why does every show/movie have to cow tow to every SJW cause as a matter of course these days? It’s exhausting.

Global warning debate
Gun control debate

I wouldn’t really say it was a debate. The guy tried to buy a rifle and briefly complained that there was a 24 hour waiting period, tried to get Dexter to give it to him without the wait, and Dex declined

Again, given the setting I didn’t find this at all forced. Weren’t they actually near an Indian reservation as well? Seemed pretty natural to me.

This was the only one that felt a little forced, maybe. But yes even in small towns there are gay people. Some of them actually do hunt too
And it’s not like there was a sex scene or anything lol. We didn’t even see his partner. Just a silly one minute scene hearing about them adopting a dog. Not exactly tiresome imo.

There weren’t really any “causes” being pushed. If you are taking about representation in casting, I think there actually are some guidelines these days about that.
