As already stated, Batista didn't see Lithgow's face,so I don't see that coming back to haunt Dex.

They will chalk it up to Trinity taking revenge on one of the officer's on the scene.

I don't think the FBI will dig too much as they are going to be looking for Trinity not trying to find new suspects. They are already embarrassed that Lundy is dead along with several other people including Rita because they did not believe Lundy. So I doubt they hassle Dex.

I do think Quinn will be the pain for Dex. Quinn already thinks Dex is a pussy hound going to clubs looking for women, so He may think Dex had a motive.

If that happens I will be pissed because we already had Doakes after Dex. We don't need to rehash that plot.

Even with the advertised shocking ending, I was still shocked. I also figured they just meant Deb finding out about Dex and his relationship to ITK.

I am surprised that it didn't leak all over the net that Benz was leaving the show.

I guess now he will have an excuse not to have a family around him since his working for the force got his wife murdered.

Wow. Good episode. Tons of tension and a shocking payoff.

Past seasons have not carried forward for the most part so I hope they do the same here. I really don't want another Doakes with Quinn.

I imagine after this, Dex is going to be 1000 times more cautious than he was in the past.

Not a good theory. No one would leave their baby unattended in a taxi.

The only plothole would be if a cab was waiting for her to come out and she never came back?

How do you know she took a cab anyways and that she didnt't drive herself? I may have missed that detail?

I still think the FBI will have to look into the Dexter/Trinity connection and uncover something? And as I mentioned in an earlier post, I am unclear about about how great of an alibi Dexter will have?

I just don't think the FBI will be investigating Dex. I agree in the real world they would be all over his house and him just to get clues to Trinity and a good investigator would also make sure Dex didn't have a motive to kill his wife.

But...... We have already had Dex under investigation when they discovered all of his corpses. We have already had Doakes trailing Dex and finding out about him.

I don't want to see a rehash of past seasons and I don't think they will, so I don't see they carrying any of this plot line any further.

I certainly could be wrong, but I will be bored to death if they do it all over again with Quinn or the FBI.

So Trinity killed Rita before that?

Trinity uttered the first words of the season "It's already over", before he killed the girl in the bathtub in the first scene of episode one.

The last thing Trinity said to Dexter before Dexter killed him was "It's already over" signifying Rita's death in the bathtub.


That subtle full circle writing is rare these days.

Yeah and as far as the timeline goes:

1. Aurthur goes to his family to get money
2. Aurthur then goes to Debra's
3. Dexter sends the family off
4. Dexter goes to Authur's family
5. Aurthur finds Dexter's real home and hides out.
6. Rita forgets her ID and decides to book a much later flight. Because of this she returns home and settles in for a while. She decides to set the baby down and take a shower (refer to the first scene of the season to see how Rita dies).
7. Aurthur places Harrison in the blood and leaves to pickup his car.
8. WHILE this occurred, Dexter was at Aurthur's house, aka the new crime scene, with Swat and Debra. He leaves there to beat Aurthur to the Auto shop and hides in the car's trunk.
9. After killing Aurthur and disposing of the body, Dexter finally returns home to find Rita in a pool of blood with Harrison looking on.
