Death Wish series sure had a disliking for Punks.

Well he obviously was against equality!

I wouldn't be surprised if it is a bad movie but the Netflix Punisher series got the same chilly reception early on from "critics" because it came out after the Las Vegas shooting.

Sure he got his revenge but everyone around him died in every movie.
He barely blinked when they pushed his new girlfriend into traffic, killing her in a fiery crash in DW 3. By then he was mostly dead inside.

DW3 is a guilty pleasure. It’s so over the top. The main villain was pretty good

I guess me pointing out the "not equal" sign on that guy's forehead was too controversial for one guy.

It was better than his straight to DVD movies lately. I thought it was a little slow in between the incident with his family and him starting to kick butt.

I enjoyed it, was what I expected.

For a mindless popcorn flick, I enjoyed it.
And those reviews are fricking hilarious for politicalizing it to the extent they did.
In no way shape or form did it blindly endorse gun violence. I liked the repeated media reactions to Willis’s character’s actions. For being a “tone deaf film,” they certainly had some real feeling evaluations and criticisms being brought up. Some of which being the same points the reviewers did. Which is making me start to wonder if they even actually earnestly watch the movies they review.
For being a...what was it? A “masturbatory conservative fantasy,” the parts of the movie that leaned closest that way felt more like a caricature than actual endorsement.
At most, this movie can be accused of offering a heavily dramatized depiction of why guns are useful tools, focused on a line early in the movie saying that people expect to wait for the cops, but they always show up after the fact. Never when it is actually happening or needed.
Which is true.
But because it’s against the desires of the groupthink, it is a racist and fascist film.

Think about it, these are the same people who gave TLJ overly positive reviews. Think about it.
I just don’t trust Rottenness Tomatoes as much as I used to.

Leave it to Hollywood to think that a prevailing problem in America is white on black violence

I used Movie Pass and saw it this afternoon. It was decently entertaining. I think he killed more white guys than minorities so I am not sure what they are all talking about

I understand the sentiment here but that's not me.
If there's something I'll never do, it's actually paying money to see a shitty and terrible movie just to make some meaningless political statement that will just get lost in the weeds.
If I want to see a movie, I'll do it because I'm interested in the premise of it and it commands financial respect.

I can't muster up enough interest in this to go see it but I do have note the irony that most of those reviews would have viewed it as more acceptable if Bruce were replaced by Samuel Jackson killing punks.
If a movie reviewer's stance on vigilante justice hinges on the colors of the people shot (or shooting) then his grasp on the underlying moral issues you should care most about is pretty weak.

Rotten Tomatoes rates it so low because they really hate Bruce (or at least his politics, which may be the same thing to them).
Going see it also
