quote:Correct. It is not historical accurate and wasn’t meant to be a documentary. There are characters that meet (no names) in the show that actually likely never met in real life. There are characters, one specifically (no name) that Milch wrote off the show for on set problems.
yes. It is. Second the show is fiction. Some of the departed on the show are not real people. Some are. How about not posting anything that could possibly be a spoiler in a thread labelled NO SPOILERS.

You having a hard time with no spoilers. How about removing any names.
I removed it but everyone I mentioned was an actual person that passed away there. That can't be a "spoiler" any more than saying Lincoln was assassinated in a theater.
...there's several more that I left off but I thought those were more primary.

that Milch wrote off the show for on set problems.

quote:Yeah, apparently that wasn’t the plan, but Milch just said screw it and wrote off the character. No f’s given.
lol. I didn't know that. Makes sense now.

that was one of the historical inaccuracies. I just didn't know there was a reason behind it. lol.
I'll really never get over Deadwood canceled for Milch to write John from Cincinnati.

Is that true? It ended pretty abruptly.

Deadwood is so much fun. Outshined a bit by the other hbo shows of its era but truly a gem
Someone in the house turned on Netflix’s remake of Little House on the Prarie and my first thought was “based on my recollection of deadwood, everyone in this show should be a lot sweatier and dirty given the era and attire”

I think deadwood is perfect with three seasons and the movie. I’m not really interested iin watching a civilized version of life there which statehood would soon bring. It was the building organization out of chaos that made the show great.

Just started myself. They sure do say "frick" a lot.

There was a website once that tallied the FPMs…”fricks Per Minute.” I think one episode had 199.

Milch didn't cancel it. Deadwood was very expensive and the ratings weren't good enough for the cost. Milch then pitched his idea for John in Cincinnati to HBO and the went with it. I guess I should have worded it better that I will never forgive HBO for cancelling Deadwood then green lighting the pile of trash that was John in Cincinnati.
