Who had the better supervillians?

The Marvel villains are the biggest issues with their films. The villains mostly suck.

DC best villains hands down: Joker, Lex luthor, sinestro, Solomon grundy, doomsday, brainic, Darkseid, captain cold, cheetah, chemo, bane, riddler, poison ivy, metallo, reverse flash, scarecrow, boomerang, deadshot, deathstroke, trigon...I could keep going for days.
frick forgot about mr.mind and then the ultra humanite.

With the notable exception of Spider Man villains I think DC has more interesting foils for their heroes.

This is Red Skull standing by.

DC bar none. I think only Doom, Magneto, Loki, Ultron, and Spider-Mans villains can compare to DC. DCs are for the most part just on another level.

I feel like Two-Face belongs somewhere in the upper half of this list.

There are so many good villans in DC is really hard to make a list of the "best"
The crazy thing, is that list didn't include WW villans... the freaking Greek mythology enemies, and there are so many good ones in the universe, freakin' Hades gets bumped, like holy shite.

Marvel's Top 15-20 are better, but DC is way deeper in terms of interesting villains.
Magneto, Ultron, Loki, Kang, Red Skull, Mystique, Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Venom, Dr. Doom Galactus, Apocalypse, Kingpin, Mandarin, Dormammu, Zemo, Leader, Enchantress, Thanos
And Marvel has some great B Tier Villains that don't get a lot of love - Mordo, Sinister, Zola, MODOK, Purple Man, Crossbones, Korvac, Madelyne Pryor, Maximus. I wouldn't put them against a Top Tier, but they are quite interesting. And if you dig in there's Reed Richards, Cyclops, Deadpool, etc. Some great turns as villains too.

There are only two Marvel villains I'd consider on par with some of DCs best.
Dr. Doom and Magneto.
Dr. Doom might be the best comic-book villain ever and he's consistently raped by the movie industry.
Magneto crossed the antihero line too often for me to consider him a true villain, albeit one of my favorite characters

Thanos
Thanos is entirely irrelevant. Marvel has openly admitted that they just ripped off Darkseid. Thanos would not exist in any form if the Marvel and DC Universe were combined.

I'd put Ultron very high up there. He's simply fricking terrifying and highly unstable. What a missed opportunity Age of Ultron was, and I really hope the cliffhanger to Infiinty War Part 1 is Ultron being reawakened to where we see him in all of his brutal terrifying glory in Part 2.
Loki is also very high up there.

Whether or not he's a ripoff is irrelevant really. If "ripoffs" were taken off of lists then most of these lists are MUCH shorter.

I mean, I wouldn't accuse Ultron of being a rip off of Brainiac. If they took anything from Brainiac, they simply made Ultron the bizarro version of Brainiac. He's an entirely emotional and unstable monstrocity with various deviancies while Brainiac is a cool and calculated mechanoid. I find Ultron to be far more terrifying than Braniac.
There's no real differences between Darkseid and Thanos, and I'd classify Thanos as a weak villain.

This is Disney we're talking about, it's not gonna happen.

It would just be awesome: Thanos vs Ultron vs The Avengers. A three way war. That would be nuts.

When done right, Kang is my favorite villain In either universe. Galactus is up there too when he's well written.

Jerry Robinson and Bill Finger took note of Chester Gould's insane creativity when it came to populating the Dick Tracy strips with signature villains. They fine-tuned the theme villain to perfection with the Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, Two Face, and the Riddler.
C.C. Beck and Otto Binder followed suit with Dr. Sivana and family, Mr. Mind, and Ibac. They also created the ultimate doppelganger villain in Black Adam.
Follow that with Gardner Fox's Silver Age Flash Rogues Gallery, Kirby's Fourth World villains, and Lex Luthor... you end up with a stacked deck.
Marvel wins in the cosmic category, by a slim edge. Spider-Man's villains are in the same category as the pulp/Dick Tracy mold that begat Batman and Flash's villain catalogs.

While I personally put Galactus in the villain category, I do like the argument that he isn't really. It's that he's more of a force...like he HAS to eat worlds to live. He's (I think) the oldest thing in the universe and presumably doesn't only consume inhabited worlds. Think I recall Silver Surfer saying he would try to find only uninhabited worlds...but would eventually fail.
