I have seen a lot of terrible opinions on this board. This is definitely one of them.

I found out this week that the red headed football player in Dazed and Confused plays Rip the lead cowhand in Yellowstone.

The only way it may have been funnier is if Affleck didn’t break his arm while beating the crap out of the freshmen. He was supposed to originally be in the water tower party. Other than that though, no.

I’m going to admit that I don’t love this movie. It’s ok but not as funny as it seems like it should be.

It’s more of a coming of age/time piece movie with comedy ingrained in it than it is a pure comedy

there are deleted scenes available on youtube. One of them has him showing up to the moontower party as you say. Definitely felt out of place. Fortunately it wasn't included in the final cut, which is near perfection.

Minus the seniors openly hazing the freshmen, it's also close to being a documentary for the way it was for a small town high school kid in the 70's.

ETA: I was kind of partial to Joey Lauren Adams (Randall Pink's girlfriend Simone). Second from the right.

On the right.
