Hit theaters this weekend. Very much in the vein of 90s post-Tarantino style pseudo thriller, semi crime film like Snatch, Way of the gun, etc.

Great cast (except for Regina King, she's terribly miscast and likely a DEI hire/role), but the rest of the cast is very good.

Is it Aronofsky's best film... Not even close, and it will probably make no money at all, but it's worth a visit to the theaters.

Looks pretty good. But why would you call out Regina King, an excellent actress, as a DEI hire? That's just a dumb criticism of a film with criminals of every ethnicity under the sun. Why didn't you complain about the white protagonist dating a black chick? That would also be on brand for stupid racial commentary.

Because that role wasn't miscast. Kravitz is also heavily Jewish Caucasian in her ancestry, but it doesn't matter, again, because her role wasn't miscast. She was very good for the part.

Kings role was blatantly a studio mandate. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out when the role clearly should have been a grizzled old male cop.... , not a Regina fricking King.

Yeah, you're right. There's never been a black female investigator in New York City. And why would you cast a Golden Globe and Oscar winning actress in that role? Clearly a studio agenda. I swear you people grasp at the thinnest of straws to push nonsense. "Oh no, a Harlem cop is a black woman." So dumb.

Regina King is a pretty good actress, I don't think she'd ever be called a DEI hire.

Watched it tonight. I thought it was just ok. I like Regina King, but I agree with OP that she was miscast here. And Smith's character was annoying. I could barely understand him when he was going thru important plot points.
