I realized a few days ago how many I haven’t seen.

Watched Miller’s Crossing for the first time today.

What a terrific movie.

I have time for one more this weekend.

Hudsucker Proxy or Barton Fink?

You don't realize how many of them are amongst your favorite films until you count them. True artists

It's incredible honestly, they've been consistently producing hits since 1985.

Hudsucker is easier to watch but Fink has a better payoff.

Hudsucker had a lot of studio interference

Loved that. Watched it for the first time right after I'd read The Glass Key.

If you like that sort of noirish-crime and haven't seen their first movie, Blood Simple, then watch that next. Very low budget, filmed around Austin, but shows their writing and style.

I used to love Hudsucker, haven't seen it in years though.

Fargo is their Magnum Opus though.

Miller’s Crossing is one of my favorite movies. I’ve seen some people not even have it in their Coen bros top 10 which blows my mind.

Miller's Crossing is amazing. I think they filmed part of it in Lafayette.

Yeah, it's pretty easily my favorite Coen brothers film. And it's right behind Godfather 1 and 2 for my favorite mob/gangster films. It's a fantastic movie.

What's the rumpus?

Blood Simple is one of the greatest directorial debuts of all time, right up there with Citizen Kane and Reservoir Dogs.

Agree with this, love that movie. And having Billy Bob Thornton and James Gandolfini on screen together is just fun

The Coen Brothers were one of the handful of filmmakers that made me want to get into filmmaking. Miller’s Crossing and Raising Arizona were huge influences. Eventually got to work with then on O’ Brother.

My favorite. A real Sophie’s choice between it and NCFOM, but fargo wins out for me in the end. I’ve watched it once every winter since it came out.

Miller’s Crossing is one of those movies that has always been overlooked since it was released in theaters.

It was a Fall release. Goodfellas hit the theaters only 2 or 3 weeks before MC, then Godfather 3 a few weeks later.

It was released during a slow time of year for movie theaters, and sandwiched between two other gangster movies with huge names attached to them.

I don’t think anyone knew it existed for a long time unless they stumbled across it at Blockbuster months, even years later.
