And at this point the way they’ve handled the show, you HAVE to bring Barnes back.
They started filming the season back in September. Sean Kanan who plays Barnes, mentioned online that he was busy filming in a project for 6 weeks starting in September...so, I feel 1+1=2

After fighting to the death in Okinawa I am suppose to believe that Daniel was more scared of Barnes than Chozen. Its laughable. That third KK movie was complete trash.
I mentioned this in one of the other season threads, but they really should have put KK3 before KK2.
If you watch them in that order it makes WAY more sense.
Daniel getting punked by Barnes and Silver is much more believable as a follow up to Johnny and CK.
Then once he’d mastered Miyagi’s style in a tournament setting, then MAYBE he’d be ready to take on Chozen in a fight to the death.
Not to mention that it would be more believable that his mom would let him fly to Okinawa with the old handyman if he’d known him over a year instead of just a few months
Anyway, when we rewatched the trilogy before S2, that’s how we watched it and it was much better.

I find it believable. She probably wanted him out of the house as much as possible.

I’m halfway through and I really like the introduction of Silver. He flawlessly fades back into character. The fights with him still look badass too.

Thomas Ian Griffith has a black belt IRL so that probably helps

For the last 30 years I thought Bad Boy Mike Barnes was also Cody on Step by Step.
Evidently I’ve been living a lie

Season 4 was great! The fact that some people are analyzing fighting skills of the actors means that the writers did a great job to get everyone invested in the story.

I was glad to see Hawk win it.
After Miguel got hurt in their match he didn't let it get to him.
meanwhile, Robby got distracted by Kenny and allowed Hawk an escape route.
really appreciated Silver's character. He was the master of deception this season.

The actor who plays Barnes had a long running character on The Bold and the Beautiful soap.

I didn't realize he was on this. I knew he had a long role on General Hospital as A.J. Quartermaine (1993-2014).

They do a really good job of editing the fights with the stunt doubles to make you believe it’s the actual characters doing the fighting. Even with Kreese, who obviously can’t move very well.

Yeah you are right. Known for General Hospital but then on the Bold and the Beautiful after that.

Just finished. The return of Silver carried the season. Some of the traditional characters and relationships got a little stale or took a backseat but Terry Silver delivered.
The writers didn’t seem to have any interest in Miguel for the first time in four seasons which I didn’t love. Robby was actually more compelling and I liked the relationship he developed with the black kid.
Johnny’s line about Mr. Miyagi sharing centuries of his family history with Daniel and not even getting any English tips in exchange was the hardest I’ve laughed in awhile. Funniest line in the show’s history and there have been some good ones. Zabka delivered it perfectly.

Mrs. Vox told me that the other day. That's insane.

Did anyone notice that there were a lot of shots of Silver early in the season where a pill bottle was close by? At first I thought well he's old whatever. I get lost in the show and don't always notice obvious clues. Anyone think the implication was that he had a personality disorder of some type and was going off his meds?

Cobra Kai is a personality disorder?
Makes sense.

his meds?

Replaced the copious amounts of cocaine he was doing in the 80s? Maybe the real implication is that he got off the adderall and back on the coke hence the return of his alter ego.

I think it’s been stated by the actors and show runners that the actors who play Hawk and Miguel are the most athletic but that the guy who plays Robby puts in the most work to perfect his fight choreography

Tory is fine. And yes I know my only contributions to this thread has been lamenting season 3 was better and pointing out hot chicks.
Y'all can have Tory and Sam -- I'll gladly take Moon and Amanda
My prediction is that Johnny will go searching for Miguel in Mexico, and that Miguel's father will be involved in the cartel... Miguel and Johnny will be in serious trouble, only to be saved by Kreese, who uses his Vietnam military training to save them.
Also, don't forget about the return of Jessica
