Visually impressive and has all the stars that folks say they love The Acolyte, Wicked and The Woman King, etc...

Should be a great success.

The lack of diversity is alarming.

At least they’re not trying to change the race of an existing property and they’re doing their own thing. That’s awesome. It looks like it will suck though.

I swear we just did this thread. I did not see Bucky anywhere in that trailer. How you gonna make a Wakanda movie without the White Wolf?

The original Blood and Bone was worth a watch as a martial arts movie - Michael Jai White, a few good fight scenes, and a callout to Enter the Dragon.

So, blacks still get mocked, even in stories set in Africa, where they're not replacing traditional white roles.

I'll never understand this level of hatred.

Closer to the release, there will be some dudes telling you why it makes no sense based on biology that the Africans could conjure any magic. How dare an African author write a young adult fantasy set in Africa that is then adapted by a black filmmaker starring black actors? They have no right to do such a thing.

lol true.

So, black people don't belong in European lore, but they can't tell their own stories either. They can't win.

As a white guy, I think it looks pretty good and will watch it without any preconceived notions.

They will kill suspected witches in Africa, today.

But whitey is somehow to blame…?

Let’s see if this movie does well with its target audience first, hmm?

Why would you think this would occur closer to the release date? I mean, you thought up this idiocy right now, you should own it. Creating hypothetical slights for your own personal outrage is pretty goofy.

It is not a level of hatred of their race or skin color. They are just pointing out the hypocrisy. Most white folks could not care less if a black filmmaker makes a movie in Africa and uses nothing but black actors. But let a movie be made today with all white actors and you won’t just hear a few quips about it on a random message board but it would be blasted on every entertainment magazine and podcast out there.
