Yep. Can't hear this song without thinking of Frankie Carbone in the freezer.

You mean the 9th. The Glorious 9th. That said, it's hard to choose just one song or even composer from Clockwork Orange. The 9th wins points for pervasiveness, but Singin' In The Rain (Home invasion) and The Thieving Magpie (fat stinking Billy Boy and his droogs) were highlights from a very memorable selection of music. Like 2001, the soundtrack as a whole can be regarded as a character; those movies are known for their music as much as anything.

Yup, thanks for the correction. And you are correct in saying that Singin in the Rain is iconic to that movie, because it was the writer's Ludovico mechanism towards the end.

There's also a story that Gene Kelly was pissed about them doing that and he refused to acknowledge Malcolm McDowell at a party.

Yea thats why I shied away from a particular symphony, but LWB's music is a central character.

IIRC, the 9th is the only Beethoven music in the whole movie, and I think it was all bits and pieces of the 2nd and 4th movements. But yeah, it was the focus of Alex's attention and ties the movie together like a nice rug.

That's part of one of my favorite bits of dialogue (monologue, really). Alex at his most poetic.
