So yeah this was by far the best Transformers movie. Not even close. The look and feel was perfect. The designs of the Transformers were on point, so much simpler and the CGI was seamless.

The human characters felt real and natural. John Cena does have a real future in the movie business. Hailee Steinfeld is what studios should be looking for in a female protagonist. There was none of that forced girl power crap. She looked and acted like a late teen girl.

The humor was natural and not out of place. Action was a little lighter than previous installments but hey it was on a smaller scale and worked for the movie.

Overall, a great fun action movie and if you were a fan of the 80’s cartoon and didn’t care for the previous live action attempts, then you will love this one. Definitely the reboot that was needed.

Drove an hour to what I thought was a non-ghetto Metro Atlanta Regal. Was sold out 2H in advance. All 3 sold out across town.

I wonder if fatigue from the previous installments will hurt thus one. It’s crazy they let Bay keep making them. I get they were all very profitable but that’s obviously due to the property, not bay

I lost interest way before fatigue set in. The second one was horrible.

But if people say this one is more in the spirit of the first with better acting and visuals, I’m in.

FYI for internet perverts:

She plays a 17 year old in the movie but the actress is 22 in real life.

But isn't this kind of like being the smartest kid in special education? Or the slimmest gal at fat camp? Or the "best" rapper?

Fixed it for you.

The last two movies ("Age of Extinction" and "The Last Knight") both made nearly 80% of their money overseas. Though, that trend started with "Dark of the Moon," with it making just under 70% of its box office overseas.

Whereas, the first two films in the series made 44 and 48% of their money here in the USA. I think it was Devestator's balls that ruined it for American audiences.

Let me guess. It was very loud, with a ton of explosions and so many jump cuts you almost puked!

She plays an 18 year old in the movie.

And no urban Transformers or bearded Transformers. If you loved the 80’s cartoon the first 5-10 minutes are going to be what you’ve been waiting for the last 3 decades.

Actually that’s not the reason. Only one word is necessary: China.

The second one made over $400 million in the US. I don’t even think the first one was released in China. Now those last two killed it in China. The 4th one was partially set and filmed in China so that helped. They also cast a Chinese actress so that helped too.

Note to studios: if you are going to obviously pander to Chinese audiences by including an Asian actress, make sure you cast a Chinese actress for the role.

Any projections on how much they expect Bumblebee to earn?

I’ve read 50-60 million for opening weekend. It will get great word of mouth and should have legs. I don’t think it will have quite the surprising performance like Jumanji did last year, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it do $250 million Domestic and $750 mil WW.
