Probably the people who understand there are plenty of other movies that have female action heroes, and OP sounds like this is the first chance his daughter has to watch a movie she can relate to?
"Grrl powah!" is fine as long as it makes sense to the story. See: Terminator, Alien/Aliens, etc.
Not saying that isn't the case for Captain Marvel. We'll just have to see how it turns out.

Captain Marvel has had a cat since the mid '00s. Chewie, named after the Star Wars character, has been a bit of a cult favorite. Recently, it was revealed that Chewis is not a cat, but is actually an interdimensional alien known as a Flerken. But that was more of a joke they are now stuck with in canon.

It’s fricking Captain Marvel and in several versions for almost 40 years has been female. And is typically touted as one of the more powerful Avengers.
Can we just have our Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel, please? It really shouldn’t be too much to ask to not cry about girl power over those.
