this is gonna end up north of 93% once all the precincts are in, maybe even 95%. this is a movie that literally has it all.
I hate to throw out brags, subtle or not, about seeing the movie, but it really is awesome.
ill be there opening night to see it again.
evans and RDJ continue to absolutely kill their roles and i cant imagine anyone else as CA and IM.
The Russo bros hit a 700 ft grand slam here.

I doubt it ends that high, prolly more in the 85% range. Some willl give it a rotten review because it's a superhero movie, just like with BvS
Plus, I heard the plot and villain are a little weak so that will bring it down some too.

My thoughts exactly, a little too fast.

I doubt it drops below 90%. Even some of the "meh" reviews are giving it a fresh score because it's a fun movie. Take a look at this one:

In terms of character, dialogue and story, this is same ol’, same ol’. Calling this “the best Marvel movie” is equivalent to proclaiming “this is the best Dorito I’ve ever tasted.”

I've had some really good Doritos.

Grace Randolph done lost her mind. She went at John Campea on twitter the other day and Campea fired back. The funny thing is, Campea liked BvS, he just liked Civil War better.
Apparently she was fired by Marvel awhile back. She did some kind of promotional show for them. Unreal. I feel kind of bad for her.

Late last week, fans of “Batman v Superman” went off on critics for taking shots at the film in their reviews of “Captain America: Civil War,” claiming the reviewers had an agenda — perhaps even a coordinated one — to take down “BvS.”
It’s a bizarre accusation to make, and yet they made it with a straight face. A bona fide flame war between diehard fans of DC and Marvel superheroes had spilled out into the mainstream.
A flame war, in case you don’t know about these things, is when an argument gets heated to the point at which everybody just starts making personal insults instead of actually arguing. This happens all the time — online, at family gatherings, among elected officials, etc. We’re all familiar with the concept.
On Sunday I had a conversation with the woman who was in large part responsible for this most recent flare-up, a YouTube-based video critic named Grace Randolph. I wanted to know what was going on her head. I think, after a 90-minute conversation, I got there.

Some folks take this stuff way too seriously.

That write up is one of the best breakdowns of internet flame wars that I've seen. It should be required reading before posting on any message board.

Agreed. I admit I've been guilty of this behavior in the past. That's why I feel bad for her.
It's important to stop and think about what you're doing before you do it and to learn to throw emotions out of it. It's a hard thing to do a lot of the time, but I've learned some lessons from seeing this thing play out.

I dont feel bad for her at all. She's gone completely into full on crazy unhinged nutball mode. The way she went after John Campea was pathetic.
If you are going to use your real name on Twitter or any other social media format you can't act like a complete a-hole and not catch heat.

Yea, I understand. She completely lost it. The thing about her is that she was all Marvel when she worked for them. She hated Man of Steel. Then she comes back after getting fired and says BvS was a masterpiece? She's really lost all credibility in my eyes.

Don't make this about BvS again

I won't. I just think it's silly that a lot of these critics seem to believe there can only be one type of superhero movie out on the market and if your movie isn't that type, it gets shat on, while if it is the favored son, it's time to get on their knees for it.
FWIW, I've been entertained in one way or another by every movie in the MCU. It's just when the main sources of criticism for a movie I enjoyed (more than the MCU movies in many ways) is being shat on because it has the audacity to strike a different tone, then that's when I get agitated. Especially when those critics overlook the real issue in that movie as well.

You do realize that Nolan's Batman trilogy was generally loved and heralded as some of the best comic book movies despite being dark and gritty. So its not like everyone got together and decided that if you don't have x number of punch lines that your movie is bad.
There is a big gap between what we were given in Batman Begins and BvS despite similar tones.
Marvel and DC each makes sure their movies have similar feels to it. But lets be fair here, most major movie studios tend to have similar genre movies have shared tones and themes.
That said, I will be catching Cap 3 as early as possible next Friday. I am likely to buy my tickets tomorrow. I will be pulling out my "Death of Cap" shirt I bought when Marvel released it. I don't think I have been this excited for a movie since the original Avengers.

PEOPLE DIDN'T shite ON IT BECAUSE IT HAD A DIFFERENT TONE. PEOPLE shite ON IT BECAUSE IT WAS A POORLY WRITTEN, POORLY PACED, POORLY THOUGHT OUT, RUSHED-TO-THE-THEATERS-TO-CATCH UP-WITH-MARVEL CRAPSACK OF A MOVIE. GET IT THROUGH YOUR frickING HEAD. SURE, YOU'RE ENTITLED TO YOUR OPINION. BUT WAKE UP TO THE FACT THAT IF YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE IN A ROOM WITH 49 OTHER PEOPLE WHO THINKS THE MOVIE SUCKS....THE MOVIE SUCKS. STOP TAKING THIS PERSONALLY, STOP POSTING WHINY TITTY BABY POSTS, JUST frickING STOP.

Well to be fair the Nolan Batverse was about one character and had the same tone because it was consistent with that character. The criticism of Marvel is that there are no real consequences to their movies, there are no risks in the movies, and the use humor to cover up the lack of depth in the movies. Granted, the two Captain America movies aren't really guilty of this, so that gives me more hope for CW, but I get the feeling this is more Avengers 2.5 with Bucky, BP, and Spidey filling in for Hulk and Thor.
