Well in comic books in general there typically is very little consequences. Almost all the Marvel movies have been designed for a singular purpose, to either introduce a character or to set something else up down the line.
Ever since Marvel started making the movies themselves, only two of them have been bad and 5 have been great. The rest have been good. But as a fan, I accept the good movies because I know they build up to the great movies. We can get a much larger picture in Cap 3 because so many of the things this movie need to execute has already been set up by previous movies. Avengers 3 is going to be out of this world amazing because it will be the final two chapters of a story spanning dozens of movies. It will have more moving parts than anything ever before but like companywide event stories, it wont seem as overwhelming because so much of the leg work has already been done.
Not if there is not some fallout from this movie that create a ripple effect in other movies than I will be disappointed, but from the reviews, that does not seem to be the case.
I doubt Dr. Strange changes the game much for Marvel movies (other than introducing mystics into the universe), same goes for GotG2 or Thor 3. Marvel likely won't do too much to shake up the status quo before Infinity Wars and I am fine with that because I fully plan to see Infinity Wars. But I also have no problem buying multiple comic books just to be told one story.

I did. Was disappointed that we didn't get the intended cut of the movie (the 3 hour cut) and the minor nitpicks I had of the movie would have been solved with that additional 30 minutes.
I haven't purchased a movie since like 2004 and I haven't gone out to rent one since like 2007, but if I can't find a copy of the Ultimate Cut to rent when the time comes, I'll definitely buy it. I keep hearing that DC is going to release the R-Rated cut to theaters, but won't just pull the damn trigger on doing so.

Even though I'm pumped for Infinity Wars, it does make me nervous.
The Russos have done a great job, but this will be one of the biggest movies of all time. It will have one of the biggest budgets, biggest casts, biggest story of almost any movie before. Two movies and a single story set up over dozens of movies.
One wrong misstep and it could ruin Marvel. Sure Dr. Strange or another one of the phase 3 movies could bomb, but people will still flock to see them. But this is the IT.
Inifinty Wars will be bigger than all the other movies and tv shows combined because it all leads to this. Disney and Marvel will throw the kitchen sink on it to make sure everything goes perfectly, which can be troublesome. if they dont let the Russos do their thing, it could be one of the biggest letdowns ever.

I agree Wicked wayz, but i will admit when i read that they were bringing back Favreau to help produce it and offer his input - i feel a bit more at ease about it.

I don't understand how this is even remotely possible at this point. These movies basically print money and until RDJ and the current set of heroes stop participating, there is no chance of ruining what they have going right now.
After Infinity War it will be completely different, but look at the actors they have signed to continue the MCU:
Cumberbatch, Boseman, Pratt, Rudd. I honestly think by then Fox will give up the F4 and we start all over again with one of the best Marvel villains ever in Dr. Doom.
The only way this ends at this point is if Marvel up and decides they've made enough money and they are done.

Eventually people will get tired of these films, it's inevitable. I'm a fan of all comic book movies and wish them well. But even I'm kind of over a lot of it. Aside from Civil War, I don't care much about some of the others films coming up.

Marvel would have to put out a consecutive string of bad movies to lose their film audience. And not just a couple of bad films, I mean they'd have to go a couple of years with terrible movies to push people away. Even if Thor 3 and Ant-Man 2 sucked, you'd still have audiences for a Captain America or Iron Man movie.

So what happens after IW closes out phase 3? Is that where this all ends?

I'd guess that they'd use IW to introduce a few new characters for phase 4 and 5.

CW got m excited for black panther and the new spidey.
so in essence, they hooked me right back in.

As others have said. They would have to make a Catwoman or F4 bad movie with one of their biggest stars to detract people from seeing these. The audience they are targeting is still young and will continue to see these no matter what. There is also so much source material to work through, not a finite number of books.
I wasn't a big fan of Iron Man 3 or Thor 2, but I would see an Iron Man 4 on opening day and will still see Ragnarok opening weekend no matter what the critics say.

If they got Doom into the fold, that could set up one of the greatest phases ever for Marvel movies.
Secret Wars.
Tell me I get God Doom at the end of phase 5 and I will preorder my tickets now. Hell I am still waiting for when they decide to start doing spin off movies so I can get Marvel Zombies, Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe, Marvel 2099.

What about Galactus (even using the Ultimate Gal Lak Tus route) or the Annihilation Wave storylines?
Posted on 4/25/16 at 3:40 pm to CGSC Lobotomy
After Infinity Wars...I could see the MCU going down quickly. I'll probably lose my interest after those two films. Unless they added some heavy hitters into the lineup like the Fantastic Four.
Adding Galactus and Dr. Doom would get me hyped. But outside of that, there isn't much more that would get me as excited

Here's the messed up thing: They can only go so far with certain storylines.
Here's an example: The current Star-Lord is none other than Peter Quill's fiancee
KITTY PRYDE

Reviews have started pouring in today it seems.

I found a couple of interesting quotes from the positive reviews:
I wonder what tone that would be? Interesting to me is that this guy's review was credited as a positive one when he gave it a 3/5.
Really? This is the 3rd of the 6 comic book movies coming out this year and you are already claiming it the the best superhero movie of the year when 2 of the other 6 aren't finished yet and the other one you will be writing a review on in the next 2-3 weeks?
Looking through the outlets that some of these reviewers were from and I've literally never heard of most of them. I took a glance at the number of reviews for them and a lot of them have less than 40-50 reviews under their belt. The only real name outlets that I see are the ones who came out in that first batch of a dozen or so and I've already said why they all gave positive reviews.

Marvel movies don't get much better than this. The trouble is, they don't want to.
quote:
This is good ridiculous fun, with a steady stream of wisecracks to accompany the fan-pleasing one-on-one match-ups.
quote:
It is during those scenes with Spider-Man that Marvel Studios demonstrates its greatest strength: a certainty of tone.

In the 2016 battle for superhero supremacy, Marvel has unquestionably delivered the knock-out blow.

There are some reviews that are barely positive, but they still acknowledge the film as not negative. 3/5 is a 60%.

That quote is talking about the two big superhero v superhero movies.
