honestly, my review is gonna sound familiar and full of cliches, bc I agree with alot of the reviews that have been written already.

I was skeptical when they said that every character had their chance to shine, but no, they all actually did...especially black panther and then the introduction of Spider-man. I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed Holland as Spidey and am genuinely looking forward to his set of movies. The critics were right about those two, they were rightly cast for these roles.

The airport fight scene is spectacular. I mean it, that shite was fricking great. Yall have to see it for yourselves, the critics were not lying when they wrote in awe of that spectacle.

With that said, there were some things not explained and plot points that made you wonder, but no deal breakers or anything that would make the watch experience less enjoyable.

This one's gonna be a fricking freight train at the box office.Word of mouth and RT will make this one a ton of money.

I thought it was just great. I'll watch it again in a few weeks

I'm certainly glad that the Russos will be behind the infinity war movies...those dudes get it.

Busy day for me, just now catching up with this thread.

First, The Egg, I just want to say that I hate your soul right now but if this movie is as good as you say it is, then I'm excited again to see it.

Now, this whole villain discussion. The MCU's best two villains really aren't even villains, they are anti-heroes. And the reason why they are such good characters and carry so much weight and emotion is due to their relationship with their respective heroes (step brother and best friend). Beyond them, the only truly good villain that Marvel has had has been Red Skull.

Let's look at the rest:

Stane: Evil businessman. Never seen that before.
Abomination: Let's make Hulk clay colored and give him shark fins.
Vanko: Let's make Tony Stark Russian and give him a trailer trash hairdo.
The Chitauri: Space Putty men.
Killian: Let's make a nerd angry and give him the Human Torch's power.
The Mandarin: frick you Shane Black.
Malekith: Legolas gone rogue... in space!
Alexander Pierce: Oh look deceptive evil white man. Who woulda thunk it?
Ronan: I'm Thanos with a deeper voice, thinner body, and a smoother chin.
Ultron: Let's make James Spader the pissed off teenage robot version of Tony Stark.
Darren Cross: After all of those awesome villains let's come back to our first one, evil businessman - but he has a yellow suit... AND IT SHRINKS!

Hell I can't blame them for having their heroes fight each other because they sure haven't given them any true villains to quarrel with.

I dont know your stance or what you've posted, but I saw a pretty damn good movie tonight.

but again I'm just an average movie goer with no stake in the game. once you see it, you're entitled to disagree with me.

For me, I never go to a movie unless I plan on enjoying myself. I'm pretty easy to entertain too, but I approach each movie with its own set of expectations and judge it on it's own.

Cap is by far my favorite Marvel character and that was before the MCU was even launched. Superman and Cap have always been my top two favorite superheroes because I view them as two sides of the same coin in a way. They are both personifications of an ideal, an ideal that is out of place in a modern world, and I love how each has been portrayed so far in each of their worlds. Side note, CA:TFA was honestly the best movie pre-Avengers to me in the MCU. Yeah Iron Man gets all the hype because it was cooler and kicked it off and it was Robert Downey's big comeback story, but Cap's story was the best to me. He didn't need a suit or green super juice, or be the son of Norse God to be a hero, he was born one. He would have a lived and died as a true hero even if he never received the super soldier serum. I can go own and own about why he is their best hero and my favorite, but it boils down to the fact that he does what he does not for fame, glory, necessity, or because someone is making him or asking him. He is who he is because of his values and he does what he does because of his values and because it's the right thing to do.

Part of why I've been so meh towards this movie is because of the critics response to Batman vs Superman. I mean they completely shat on a movie for no valid reasons (well other than editing) all while saying it wasn't "fun" like Marvel, like it's some requirement that all superhero movies now have to suddenly meet some arbitrary quantity of subjective "fun" in order to be deemed worthy of viewing. Not only that, but it seemed a lot of people in the general public, rather than forming their own opinions of the the DCEU for what they were presenting, were just parroting the critics word vomit and that gave me another reason to resent this movie. I could expand more on this, but I'd rather not. I'm the kind of guy who can enjoy hot dogs and hamburgers, ketchup and mustard, DC and Marvel, but apparently that's not allowed anymore. You have to draw a line, pick one, and that's that. Shame really. We are in the golden age of comic book movies, hell in the golden age of action/adventure/fantasy/sci-fi movies and we got people who want to draw battlelines because a character doesn't smile enough in a movie.

Oh well, glad you said it's good. The Jungle Book was pretty good too fwiw.

Disney decided to do 25 special early screenings around North America tonight. I only mentioned it like 4 times before now

You basically went on a website, bought a ticket without knowing the location of the theater and they sent you a time and the particular theater you'd be seeing it at today in an email.

yeah it was via seeitfirst.net, and it was free, just had to register for it.

but I'd pay to see it again, and maybe more than once.

Look, BvS and CW are movies that have both similarities and differences.

the biggest difference is completely in its execution. I did not think BvS was a great movie, at all. I did think that CW was superior in every single facet...storyline, humor (obviously), conflict, acting, directing, CGI, character balance, character introductions, etc etc etc.

actually, the only thing I'd swing towards BvS is the women, with Gal Gadot completely blowing me away in it, but there's something about Emily Van Camp...maybe I'm entering my white blonde phase, I dunno, but she looked great in CW.

the action set pieces will blow you the frick away, and it's not just the airport scene, either.

it really is a huge ocean between both movies (and the Marvel and DC visions) and I fricking wanted BvS to be a sick film, it just wasn't. CW is and will be the standard for comic book movies, in my eyes.
