'Captain America 4' in the Works With 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier' Showrunner

No castings for the project are officially known but Friday’s episode offers plenty of roads for the feature to take. Up until this point, Chris Evans has played Captain America via the Steve Rogers character, appearing in a trio of solo movies, Avengers outings, and assorted Marvel movies. And the question of who is entitled to carry the shield or be Captain America was central to the show.

What? I was told on this board that people would absolutely accept a black Captain America. Surely this movie will see no drop from Winter Soldier just because Sam is welding the shield.

Or maybe people are worried because the show was wildly uneven, and the show runner of said show is gonna be in charge.

I thought it was a pretty good show. Mackie is incredibly likeable and has been since WS.

For me personally, it’s because in my mind Captain America was Steve Rogers and as much as I love Mackie and his character of Sam Wilson, it’s just not the same.
If they want to make him Captain America in the show for a couple seasons that’s fine, but I’d rather move on in the movies and not see a “Captain America” on the big screen again. If that makes sense.
That goes for Stark and anyone else that died or retired after Endgame. Don’t recast them or give their persona to another person. To me you can’t replace their first MCU versions, that’s a testament to how good they did Iron Man thru Endgame.
Plus this show was unbelievably average.

I'm not sure how anyone could be excited about this after seeing that Falcon and Winter Soldier finale. It was terrible.

It wasn’t terrible. They need to focus on making good content and stop trying to subvert expectations. Sam needs to get the super soldier serum ASAP. Captain America can’t just be some regular dude with a bum knee.

You're going to be waiting a while for that. I never expected Sam to get the super soldier serum. I expect him not to.

I imagine a black man being asked to be CA would have the internal dilemma Falcon showed in the series. In the end his concluding speech in episode 6 was spot on

Isaiah bradley said at the end of the last episode that MILLIONS of people wouldn’t take to kind to a black captain america. That was the most fricked up line in the whole series and complete bullshite. Sam is awesome. My only problem with him being cap is he’s not a super soldier.

And when Sam said it in Ep. 6, he wasn't JUST talking about whites.
Isiah himself basically said he would never accept a black man as Captain America.
