it’s because in my mind Captain America was Steve Rogers
And it isn't a title or a rank..Steve got that character over. It was some bullshite they gave him as propaganda, and HE made it into a symbol.
Its like saying Booker T is going to be the new Undertaker cause Mark Calloway retired and we have to like it. Booker T alone wasn't good enough to become his own thing.

So if at some point Steve Rogers loses the super serum (say Thanos time stoned him to pre Cap time) would that mean he can no longer be Captain America even if he was willing to fight on the front lines as best he could?
Was Steve Rogers what made Captain America or was the serum what made Captain America?
Sam Wilson is a vet who after his service continued to help other veterans as best he could. He believes in America, and that we can be the best of ourselves. He sure as shite can be my Captain America.

For me personally, it’s because in my mind Captain America was Steve Rogers and as much as I love Mackie and his character of Sam Wilson, it’s just not the same.
Well, in the comics, several people have been Captain America, but I'm pretty sure it always comes back to Steve Rogers. They change him out for the sake of presenting storylines and return to him because, for most (like for you) Steve Rogers IS Captain America.
In the movies it is a little more complicated because you have the added factor of actors who become identified with the character.

Don’t recast them or give their persona to another person.
It will be interesting to see how they choose to proceed. Evans, Downey, Hemsworth, et al can't and/or won't want to reprise their roles indefinitely. Will Marvel/Disney be willing to retire major characters? I kind of doubt it.
For Black Widow it looks like they will go with giving the code name to another person. Characters like Spider Man and Dr. Who have been played by multiple actors.

Yep. It's a plot point. Like Azrael as Batman. Yes, it happened in the comics. No, no one would accept that character as a replacement Batman long term.
I don't think Sam as Cap is going to go over with people long term for the same reason. Yes, it happened in the comics. No, that doesn't mean I'm ever going to equate Sam Wilson with Captain America.
That said, as long as they don't destroy the rest of his stories with stupid racial crap and villains they pretend are relatable, but aren't, I'm sure I'll enjoy him as Captain America in the MCU. It makes sense in a real world Marvel universe where time doesn't stand still. Falcon and Winter Soldier was so bad that I'm not sure confident in this thing moving forward though. Very disappointing show.

They could always hit the "universe reset" / heroes lose button and use that as an opportunity to recast some people. DC has done that with the animated movies now.

think they did a pretty good job of keeping the wokeness on a slight simmer.

Too late. Here's your next "Iron Man" -

The future of these characters has already been decided.
Sam is the new CA.
Marvel is making Ironheart into a Disney+ series.
And Jane Foster is the new Thor.
Welcome to the new MCU.

They used to make good movies before it got completely taken over by comic book characters.
Maybe comic wokeness will raise the cinematic standard back to just mediocre.

You want to read that sentence back to yourself out loud?

Worked for iron man.
And this CA has a suit specially made by Wakandan tech
Black Panther has Wakandan tech too. But he still wasn’t shite when he didn’t have the Wakandan serum. And Iron Mans suit is apples to oranges compared to Sams suit. We know the wings are bullet proof but is his suit? Does it give him super human strength like Iron Man’s? I doubt it. If it was, that would be one thing. But if it’s not, then he’s severely underpowered for being a main character such as Captain America.

I’ve thought this since Endgame was released but I honestly think the MCU is going to take a massive step back until the X-Men show up. Their phase 4 seems relatively weak and while I loved WandaVision, the ending was terrible and F&WS was a mediocre attempt too. The Shang-Chi film seems ok and I’ve lost interest in BW due to its release being shuffled.
The only thing I can think of being excited for is a multi-verse Spidey with the previous actors/villains being featured which even then is owned by Sony.
Hopefully Blade and F4 prove me wrong, those are easily the most excitable projects from their phase 4 announcement, also holding out hope for Loki.

not opposed to them doing a movie but
Pass. The writing for the show was easily the worst Marvel has done in a while. No way I'd give him the keys to a tentpole franchise movie

I may be in the minority here. Lame villains aside, I like these characters better in the format of the 6 episode mini series over getting a Captain America 4 movie.

Wasnt shite? Tchalla seemed like he was still a good fighter the only 2 times we saw him without the Wakandan Serum in the MCU and in the comics he definitely was.
