He was easily the best part of TD season 3. The show dragged imo during the scenes he wasn’t in. I also noticed some similarities he had to Woody’s character from season 1. Not saying SD’s performance was on the same level as Woody’s, but damn close if you ask me. I hope to see Stephen Dorff in the limelight more often going forward. All hail Roland West!

P.S. that bar fight scene tho

Honest suggestion for future reference, Don’t use so many abbreviations. I and many others have no clue what show TD is or who SD is . True Detectivie would be easier for readers

I honestly didn't even realize it was him until midway through the first episode. Though I know I've seen movies he was in since then (Immortals, World Trade Center) the last movie I even remembered him in was Cecil B Demented which came out in 2000.

He was so damn good and I never would have expected it considering before this I knew him best from Cecil B Demented, SFW, Blade, and the Aerosmith music video for Cryin.

Dorff was great but to say he was easily the best part is wrong as Ali was also very good. I also think part of the reason we think Dorff was so good is that we've seen him be Stephen Dorff in the past.

Couldn’t disagree more. Ali was fantastic but Dorff outshined him IMO.

Ali’s version of the old Hayes was the best acting in the show imo. But both were great overall

I thought he was great but I’d have a tough time saying he outshined Ali

Scoot was awesome too

I couldn’t fault someone for that opinion. They both were great in the old man role. Ali probably wins that timeline.

Normally I think the abbreviations go overboard here, but this one is rather obvious

Hadn't watched that in decades. Just checked it out on YouTube.

Freaking Sawyer from "Lost" is the dude that steals Silverstone's bag in the diner. Neat.

Can't argue against that. I thought he did the old man better than any of the younger versions. There was just something off about his portrayals as a younger man to me.

I am admittedly no acting expert, however.

This. Dorff nailed his accent too imo.

one of the things that amazed me about Ali’s performance was his portrayal of an old man. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a younger man play an older man so convincingly. It most often feels extremely gimmicky, but it just worked with Ali. Shout out to the makeup department on that one too.
