Did you seriously just compare Jj fricking Abrams to Poe and Hemingway?

Jj can be as much of a fanboy as he likes. It doesn't mean he's a great artist. He deals in formulas. It's all he knows how to do and this was another disappointing result. Was it a terrible movie? No, but considering what resources they had and what people were expecting, it really misses the mark.

Dude, you were shitting on this movie since Boyega popped up in the first teaser. Maybe even when the cast was released, I can't remember because I've been ignoring you for that long.

No on who frequents this board enough to know your schtick gives a shite what your opinion is about this movie.

Agreed on all points. Also:

7. Han already knows the janitor lied about being a "really important" person in the Resistance, yet everyone is willing to go along with his claim that he knows how to bring the shields down.
8. And when it becomes apparent that he was lying about that too, does Han warn the Resistance that there's a little snag in the plan? No! He shrugs his shoulders and just hopes everyone will muddle through in time to save the Princess and everyone else from certain death.

Not in a million years. I just used the idea of artists who copy/inspire/are fans of someone else. They all are, that's the point.

Those are just the guys I can talk at length about in terms of their influences. Abrams is nowhere near the artist (if an "artist" at all) of a Poe or Hemingway. (I like Abrams and all but man does he know how to blow it after great starts...... The last half of Alias. Lost. etc.)

I don't think anyone is arguing for him to be a "great" artist.

I wouldn't disagree with this however.

I might have liked it if I were a 10 year old boy.

"Fun" has killed film reviews similar to "killed it" for live music reviews.

You act like this is something to be praised. I pity people whose inner child is dead and can't see the joys in simple things.

I sincerely feel sorry for you dude, this statement isn't a good thing.

If you can't turn off your adult, and allow yourself to have mindless fun, which this was despite all of the problems, then you are way too cynical about life.

No one is calling it Citizen fricking Kane or anything. The movie is the definition of fun. Sorry if you're such a bitter, pessimist, emotionally dead a-hole that you can't see how fun the movie really is. It's not insulting, and its only real goal was to give you fun characters and remind you how fun the Star Wars universe and story really is. It completely succeeds at this.

How dare a movie make you laugh and cry and remind you of your inert childhood humanity! Anyone who has these points of view I hope are no older than their late teens.

It's not a shtick and I'm just as entitled to repeatedly hate on it as others are to repeatedly laud it. I mean holy shite. I'm starting to think that OML actually works for Disney now. He and others are working hard to convince us that our opinion is wrong.

And to those who say the Emo Fett haters were hoping for Vader 2.0. That's not it at all. We were hoping for a classic villain and not a whiny, tantrum-throwing goofy looking bitch. Yes, we get why he is the way he is. We aren't idiots. We just think it was a stupid choice that cheesed up the movie, and Driver is a terrible actor.

I never said anything negative about Ridley or Boyega. Don't make shite up.

Well, I like Disney a lot. One thing just about every childhood has in common is that Disney shaped us. They take real chances and trust their audience no matter what their age. Even when they make cash grabs like Cars, they use this to insure ambitious projects like Wall-e or Inside Out that on paper don't seem like they'll make boatloads of money for them. While they enjoy a big game plan, they tend to have good ideas and largely trust the artists who they hire.

How about you pull the stick out of your arse, and then you could see how it was fun.

I enjoyed TFA but the constant plot holes were a bit distracting.

Nothing on that list was a plothole. Pedantic nitpicking is a not a plothole, it's just a failure of the viewer to suspend disbelief. It's really one of my pet peeves how people misuse the word "plothole". If you want to argue that the film failed to transport you to another world, then okay, legit criticism. Unlikely or chance occurrences, particularly in a genre film, are not plot holes.

Not him personally, but you sure did flip shite about his casting and apparent character.

I never said you did. You just projected the truth of that on yourself though.

Because you did bitch about her character as well.

No I didn't fricking bookmark it. We all know you did.

You are welcome to say anything, but after the way you were before it opened. I'm not going to take it seriously.

The second paragraph is literal nonsense.

If you want to shite on acting, then shite on Boyega, Isaac, early Ford, and Fisher.

Then your movie opinions are total shite. You wouldn't know a fun movie if it slapped you in the face.
