re: Can I get a list of the sad souls who hated Star Wars?

This was the best Star Wars film since the OT, but that doesn't mean it can't be nitpicked to death. There were a ton of inconsistencies and minor flaws throughout this movie. The pacing was also far faster than it needed to be, refusing to let things resonate on screen and instead choosing to rush us to the next scene or plot point. Pointing out and discussing flaws doesn't mean you hate Star Wars.
Likewise, you can walk out of this movie thinking it was flawless (just a fantastic action movie) and still not be a huge fan of Star Wars.

I didn't hate it.
It was a perfectly excellent remake of A New Hope.
Unfortunately, it was supposed to be Episode SEVEN!

Purposeful or not, I think they should've left the mask on. There's nothing to fear now that I know what's underneath.
That ruins Han's death scene. So no, we needed to see his face. It helps humanize the character.

That's what the OT was

And yet we got more depth and character development from Kylo Ren in one rushed film, than we did from Vader in 3 movies.
It's a more complicated villain, deal with it.
If he was Vader 2.0, everyone would be bitching about that.

It was good. I don't have any need to watch it again though

I enjoyed the movie and was entertained but surely you can acknowledge it was essentially the original trilogy remade into a modern single movie with a new generation of characters.

You seemed way too worked up about this

It was enjoyable but a little disappointing. The Death Star plot being used for the third time was pretty lame you have to admit.

"The Martian" was the best space movie of 2015.

I guess the good news for me is that I have no intention of walking into it.

Certain aspects of the movie blew chunks. Boyega and Isaac had some seriously rough spots, and JJ made a high priced fan flick rather than a new movie in many ways.
Kylo Ren just wasn't one of the chunks. The character was beautifully written, and I thought Driver's performance was the best in the movie from start to finish. With Ridley a close second.
After Han's death, the scene where he is dealing with Rey and takes off his mask was my second favorite. Because the depth of that scene, and how well it is written, is amazing.
I've only watched that scene once, and yet it's like a damn onion. So many dynamics at play there. Which we would literally never get without the mask coming off.
Han's death is also meaningless without the mask coming off. Ford's last 3 seconds as Han are incredible, and its strictly because that mask is off.

It sucked. SW is an epic story, the movies suck. Kinda like the stories in the bible.
ETA - a beloved character, of several generations died, and meh, seemed a little unimportant.

Maybe not, I guess I should've reworded to address people like the op who think just cause the movie wasn't as terrible as the prequels it cannot be criticized. Personally, I didn't love it but I'll reserve my judgment on the new trilogy until the next movie. If Rey turns out to be Luke's daughter I will probably hate this trilogy even more than the prequels for getting my hopes up haha. There's a whole galaxy and FA made it seem like that galaxy was smaller than Baton Rouge

If they screw up and don't address the OBVIOUS questions they raised in this move appropriately in episode 8, this movie will free fall into OT/Prequel limbo right above Sith.
List the questions you want answered.

Anyone that came out of that movie unhappy is an insufferable c word.

think they are just trolling trying to make a name for themselves like Breesus and his South Park hating.
The Force Awakens is already one of my all time favorite movies and I'll have seen it in theaters 3 or 4 times before all is said and done. I loved every minute of the movie and I think it's easily up there with A New Hope.
Some of these people are suffering from Nostalgia glasses. And some of them compare the entire completed Original trilogy that they've seen and loved and analyzed a million times to a movie they saw once in theaters, which is insane.
And I won't respond to your above statement because I love the movie and franchise too much to derail the thread.

That was kind of the entire point of the character. Some of you people are really dense.
And The amount of full grown men criticizing a movie because the main actor doesn't get your dick hard is very alarming.
Seriously, what's with a of you just criticizing his looks?
