I was hoping he would just start dicing and snorting in the final scene.

That thought crossed my mind too. I think it could have worked

Heisenberg snorts meth
Lays down and is clearly blown away by the rush of ....whatever the hell meth does
Then fade out in the same way that they did.

Just fits the whole shootout in the Southwest theme. Didn't think about it until tonight, but several scenes throughout the series have an Old Western movie feel. Giligan even mentioned The Searchers in Talking Bad.

Plus, El Paso is mentioned a few times. If Hank had taken that El Paso assignment he might still be alive.

So what was his plan if a bullet didn't ricochet? Seems like a loophole. He's always one step ahead.

We all had our theories and some were right and some were off. I incorrectly guessed that Walt would survive in the end. But I did make this prediction that I posted in the "Granite State" thread.

I didn't catch every page of this thread, so I'm not sure if anyone else thought of it, but I noticed that for the second time Lydia mentioned Stevia when getting her tea. I wonder if she is the one who winds up getting the ricin.

My buddy wrote it off cause he thought it was too obvious, but that kind of summed up the finale for me. It was as good as any other episode, but as safe as you can get. No real risks taken.

I don't think he was optimistic about his chances of surviving. This was a suicide mission.

In fact, Jesse kind of gave him a small chance because it supplied him with an excuse to hit the deck without the rest of the Nazis following suit.

The finale actually surprised because people wrote off the obvious choices (ricin for Lydia, BFG for Nazis, Jesse gets Todd) as too obvious.

Mentioned it before but at that point it didn't matter if he lived or died as he accomplished his mission. If he lived... oh well. He'd just surrender to the cops.

Yup. As soon as I heard that, I knew Walt was going to get shot. Maybe not killed, but shot at least. Vince tells you everything that is going to happen before it happens, but no one really notices or understands it until it actually happens.

He wasn't going to live much longer anyway because of the cancer. When he realized that the vacuum cleaner man wouldn't deliver the money to his family for him, he set off on his mission. If the vacuum dude had said "Yes," it would have been a pretty boring finale.

As was I, with the exception of being confident that somehow, someway Jesse was sending Todd to Nazi Sociopath Heaven.

I'm really glad that the Breaking Bad team was confident enough in their story that they didn't care that people would guess how certain arcs would end. Too many shows (hello there, Lost) panic and feel the need to change things up simply to be "surprising".

Why was Lydia calling Todd at the end? Did she ask him "Is it done yet?"

Lydia was calling to see if they had killed Walt yet. She alluded to this in the cafe after Walt left.

I wonder what Jesse will do. The way walt died was beautfiul. from loser to badass. And it was so satisfying when Jesse killed Todd...

I'm not going to read the entire thread, but this was a brilliant end to the show.

-Walt gets killed by... Walt.
-Walt saves Jesse and Jesse gets away. The cops will find his confession tape, but Marie will vouch for the fact that he was working with Hank to make it.
-Hank and Gomez get proper burials.
-Jesse has the chance to kill Walt, but refuses because he's not Walt and he leaves Walt to do it himself (which he's already done).
-Walt dies with the one thing he truly loves.
-Walt's family is set with the Schwartzes giving the donation to breakfast.
-Walt gets his legacy. There will be no question that the blue meth is his because his actions leading to his death mean the blue meth dies with him.
-Every person who threatened Walt's family is dead.

If you wanted Walt to die, that's done.

If you wanted Walt to save Jesse? Done.

If you wanted Walt to kill everyone? Done.

If you wanted Walt to provide for his family? Done.

If you wanted Walt to end with his legacy intact? Done.

I was ready for it to end and sad to see it go. We saw some of the finest television ever tonight.

Not every person. Marie didn't die. She threatened Sky so many times.
