Bought my first new TV today in over 10 years.

Old TV was a 48" Samsung HD LED in our bedroom.
New TV is a 65" 2026 Samsung OLED 4K UHD paired with a Samsung 3.1 Sound Bar + sub-woofer.
Bought it from Best Buy.
Now tell me how what I bought is inferior to all the other TVs made these days & how Best Buy is the worst place to buy a TV. TIA.

As far Samsung, I don't have issues, but my best purchases for TVs the last 15+ years have been LG. I have a 50" plasma sitting in a closet that is over the 15+ age that fires right up when needed. Heavy AF though.

How bout those $5,000 TVs they have playing in the stores? They do you no good because no normal shows are filmed in that super hi definition that you need to utilize the TVs potential. Just get a cheap 4K smart tv.

There's more to a TV than resolution. People pay for OLED (and it may have been surpassed by now, I'm not sure) for its ability to handle deep blacks. My first big panel tv was a plasma (known for handling black), and when I went to replace it OLED was the only tech that came close.

What model did you buy? I was looking at buying the S90F, but ended up getting the LG C5. I really only buy my electronics mostly bc I can just pick it up day of and have it. Like another poster said just have to time the sales right.

You need to carefully consider both the panel tech for the type room you're putting it in and the underlying OS you'll be stuck using for the next few years.

Anyone have experience with a Frame or Canvas TV?
My wife (no pics) is interested in a TV that's not really a TV, and I'm considering one of these. Currently, pricing for Samsung Frames and Hisense Canvas are within a close range of each other. Curious if anyone has either of these.

Frame and it's not even close for this application. The One Connect is a game changer. You'll wonder why all TVs don't have that tech.
Protip: don't pay a subscription for Samsungs art collection. There's tens of thousands of free art downloads on the Web including at some of the World's most famous museum's websites.
Buy a cheap USB stick and download all the art you want to display on it.
The trick is Samsung puts the TV into "art mode" after selecting a picture which makes it look like real art.. Not just a bright TV with a photo on it.
Protip: don't pay a subscription for Samsungs art collection. There's tens of thousands of free art downloads on the Web including at some of the World's most famous museum's websites.

We initially went with Firesticks when we ditched cable, but the interface for them is terrible.
We've had a Roku OS television in the den for the last 5 years and we love it.
Our daughter's TV is Google based and she doesn't like it much.

Dont use any of them and buy a cheap Roku or apple TV to plug in via HDMI.

And there was probably not much price difference between the old tv's price and the price of your new tv/sound setup.
