The style of comedy is completely different, yes, but the worldview is what I’m getting at

their worldviews are also very different... unless you mean that what they have in common is the fact that they each have a worldview.

This, and I think a lot of people miss that.

I didn’t like the parts I watched but I’m super conservative so knowing he is a woke Lil soy boy makes it hard for me to find him funny. I liked be happy (or parts of it) and actually laughed at some things but today I didn’t even chuckle and cokes is over there laughing away.

He's kind of nailing the Mitch Hedberg look in the 2nd half.

I don’t mind when people say that just don’t like someone or do t like a certain brand of comedy. But just saying he’s woke just means it’s over your head. And he is like Carlin and Chappelle in that he’s making a statement that in many ways is opposite what his bit is portraying.

I get he’s not for everyone. But he’s funny. And he’s musically talented.

I think you might have missed his point.

One of the main points of the special is to castigate those who spend their existences glued to screens and voicing misinformed opinions about everything under the sun or virtue signaling about causes in a light that’s always meant to boost one’s own social score, and that includes the woke, that includes self-absorbed zoomers, that includes brands, and that sums up the entirety of mainstream culture that’s being swallowed by the flattening of everything creative.

The “Thats the way the world works” and “white womans instagram” bits were incredibly well done

Him making fun of corporations being woke in between was funny as hell too.

Yeah. He was certainly making fun of the woke mob and SJWs a good bit in this, too.

Just finished it. Wow. That was definitely.....Weird. As. frick.

And that being said, I feel like I really liked it. I’ll have to go back and think on it a bit, and maybe even watch it again. It’s obviously not as “accessible” as any of his previous work, and some of this was pretty out there. But there was a lot of good in this that I think may even be great the more I think about it.

Really liked parts, like the sexting song and “just wait” guitar song near the end. Liked several bits in the first half. The second half got a little out there, but I think a lot of it still hit with me. I love that you can never tell if he’s joking or serious about his mental health, and I feel like that’s how he wants it. Also wonder if the stage anxiety thing he talks about is true (wouldn’t be surprised at all if it was). But man, at the very least even if you don’t like his style, you have to admit he’s not only talented, but incredibly gifted production-wise. Some of that was pretty incredible when you think about how it was all just one guy in a single room doing everything himself.

Yeah I truly think some parts of this are fantastic. Definitely something I will watch more than a couple of times.

Totally agree. I’m looking forward to watching the second half when I can find the time.

I laughed at the lighthearted self-critique of the self-critique of the self-critique of the unpaid intern bit

I think it was relatively normal compared to some of his other specials.

His other specials are more impressive bc he does it live I believe and has to do all the manic switches in pace/character. This one was pretty good but a lot of hit and miss. But when he hits it's very very good, like the bits you mentioned i loved

Yea it was funny put into song form and cadence. Altho that's not a groundbreaking theme for a comedian.

I love his darker stuff which was surprisingly lighter on this special compared to his others. I was rolling at the suicide for just a year thing. I do think he was a lot more relatable and less meta this special in comparison to his others.

Same. I have always joked that if I could kill myself for a few weeks I would absolutely do it.

I look at Bo as more of a jaded Dametri Martin. He got that college comedian thing going for awhile but it was a way different energy than a Dane Cook.

I don’t care for most of his stuff but “Art is Dead” is a brilliant song
