It's not that there are some good reviews. It's the fact it's 100%. Some good reviews are fine. People have different opinions, but when you see 100% or anywhere close to it there is some frickery at play.

It may not be pandering, it may be Marvel leveraging those critics for good reviews. Critic reviews can not be trusted anymore.

You should read the Audience Interested/Not Interested comments.

A few highlights from the Not Interested crowd:

quote:

Meter said 100 by critics. Are you kidding me. Why because it's a black hero all these SJW critics have to like it. This is an outright lie by the phony critics and rotten tomato bullshite. No movie ever gets 100 percent.

I believe this is the 18th or 19th Marvel release. What could have possibly changed about this film to make you think that?

So first it was your own interpretation, then it wasn't even your interpretation and it was a review that you read, now you don't even know where you read the review.

Yeah, I scrolled down and you know What? The phrase "social justice" and "the sruggle" didn't appear once.

You didn't have to make shite up to say I don't care to see this.

No. It never was. That was just in your pretty little head.

By someone who saw the movie and raved about the "social conscience." You know, your required basis for forming an opinion on the movie.

Which, I didn't say was good or bad, just that it has those elements in it, which, according to the people who made and reviewed the movie after seeing it - is definitely in the movie.

You don't have to find new ways to get your arse kicked on the boards, but here we are.

TLJ opened my eyes to the rigged review situation. No way a film with that many flaws gets the review it got. I'm not even talking about the political stuff. Just basic movie making things.

I think with these big franchises the critics are either losing or gaining favor depending on their reviews. It's clear that something is going on.

That's probably the most moronic post of this whole thread. Congratulations I guess. It's not butthurt. It's plain as day that the critic reviews are being manipulated especially when it deals with the major franchises.

No, but the moment you walk into the theater, you have entered Social Justice Land, and as the white guy, will be expected to pay for everyone else's popcorn.

I like how the usual suspects are acting like a shitload of movies don't start off w/100% on RT all the damn time.

Thor Ragnarok started off at 100% too.

News flash, the early reviews are always made by the people the studio thinks are going to give them the best reviews.

Not sure why all the sudden this board has amnesia on that.

But that's not what's happening here.

You appear to have some Theory as to why this movie got the green light, despite anyone that has followed production knows that that is not true.

You seem to be convinced that there are themes present in a film you didn't need to see to know was there, and this was all reinforced in a review that you read and I can find if I just scroll down, yet that review wasn't there.

There are plenty of films that I have no intention of seeing, but I don't make up some fictitious world to explain why the movie exists, especially when I appear to have zero knowledge of the property.
