Episodes are now out on Netflix.

I gues I know what I'm doing this weekend.

shhiiiiiiiiiiiiii

I'd love to hear people post some non-spoiler thoughts as they run through them. Could be as sipmle as "this one was great" "this felt like a real black mirror ep" "this one sucked" etc

Couldn’t sleep last night watched the first one at like 3am. I liked the first one. It definitely stuck to the dark and depressing tech theme the show was founded on and the end was a kick in the nuts. Seemed to be a metaphor for endless subscriptions. About to start the 2nd one

You’re close but off the mark a little bit. This is a metaphor for late stage capitalism. You’ll own nothing and be happy.

2nd one was ok. More straight forward and predictable. Cool ending

I like to hear this! Even if neither blew you away, it's at least better than "man this one sucked". The last couple seasons have been so massively underwhelming that even "this was ok" seems to be improvement ha.

To be fair I’ve only seen the first 3 seasons so I don’t have half of the catalogue to compare to like most on here will. I still have yet to watch the famous USS Callister episode

Ok Hotel Reverie sucked. Boring and long as hell. We’re trending down boys

Plaything probably my favorite one so far. I have a feeling I’ll be in the minority though.

I’ve watched all except the last one because I haven’t seen USS Callister. This is what I’d say:

1. Good-dark and depressing tech story line with a rough ending (vintage black mirror)

2. Pretty good-more straight forward and predictable with a cool ending

3. Sucked-boring and long

4. Ruled-cool gaming episode and it brings back will poulters character from bandersnatch

5. Ok-sad episode, Giamatti is great, more tech/memory type story line

6. Haven't watched yet

The Eulogy episode with Giamatti was heartbreaking.

They’ve completely lost their edge from the tech side. Punching down. Subscription models were a story two years ago. The augmented ai stuff everyone has already seen and know it’s applications. They seem to be a ways behind.

From the tech side. First three eps still quality entertainment

I've watched Common People and Bête Noire so far. Common People was rough. Was legit creeped out on Bête Noire when Verity drank the almond milk and just eyed Maria down; that episode was entertaining but sort of went off the rails at the end.

Looking forward to the rest. Wish I could read the thread but without individual threads for each episode I'll have to circle back.

Common People - Great episode. Sad but very topical.

Bête Noire - Enjoyed this one.

Eulogy (Giamatti!) - Really good. Looking back at what the episode was, it was better than it had any right to be. Big props to Giamatti.

Hotel Reverie - Didn’t really like it. Kinda topical but kind of boring and I didn’t like the lead actress.

Plaything - Haven’t watched yet.

USS Callister Into Infinity - Great! Probably the best this season.

Watched first episode this morning

I enjoyed it, and I'll say it didn't end how I expected it to

Would have liked it to have gone darker, but it was an interesting concept

Went straight to this because I love Giamatti and it was awesome and heartbreaking.

Can't wait to watch the rest.

Common People is hackneyed and idiotic. Hopefully the episodes get better.

First 2 episodes were fine/ok. Like others have said, episode 3 stinks.

Black Mirror hasn't been consistent since season 4 I'd argue.
