I'm talking a real movie, not a Sunday Night network film.
we need one about The Big Bopper, there's already movies about Ritchie Valens and Buddy Holly but The Big Bopper has largely been ignored. perhaps his estate has blocked any from being made, who knows.

Francis Marion or John Paul Jones (the sailor not the bass player, although I'd probably watch one on the bass player as well).

Colonel Sanders

Maybe then we'd get the secret recipe that's apparently locked in a vault somewhere.

He actually has an interesting life.

Foraged for food at age 7 to live...dropped out of school at age 12 to get a full-time job on a farm, then worked as a child labourer as a streetcar conductor, then.falsified his age to enlist in the Army at age 16....Went to Cuba, won some military award.

Came back home, worked on the railroad as a fireman, then he studied law on his free time and practiced law for a brief period but lost his practice after getting into a brawl in the courtroom with his own client.

Despite being married with kids, he moved back home and lived with his estranged mother, getting a job on the railroad where he was quickly fired for insubordination. He then moved to Louisville and started selling insurance. At age 30, Sanders started a ferry boat company....after selling it, Sanders moved to Winchester, Kentucky, to work as a salesman for the Michelin Tire Company.

In 1930, the Shell Oil Company offered Sanders a service station in North Corbin, Kentucky,.. Sanders began to serve chicken dishes and other meals such as country ham and steaks.

Initially he served the customers in his adjacent living quarters before opening a restaurant. It was during this period that Sanders was involved in a shootout with Matt Stewart, a local competitor, over the repainting of a sign directing traffic to his station. Stewart killed a Shell employee who was with Sanders and was convicted of murder, eliminating Sanders's competition.]

Sanders was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel in 1935 by Kentucky governor Ruby Laffoon. His local popularity grew, and, in 1939, food critic Duncan Hines visited Sanders's restaurant and included it in Adventures in Good Eating, his guide to restaurants throughout the US. The entry read:

Corbin, KY. Sanders Court and Café
41 — Jct. with 25, 25 E. ½ Mi. N. of Corbin. Open all year except Xmas.
A very good place to stop en route to Cumberland Falls and the Great Smokies. Continuous 24-hour service. Sizzling steaks, fried chicken, country ham, hot biscuits.

Paul Harvey voice: And now you know the rest of the story.

Sulla, but he'd probably need a mini series, not a movie.

Stewart was 6'3" and skinny as a rail..You're right on casting. Someone in the late 20's early 30's. Nicholas Hoult is 6'3" and a pretty solid actor.
