This will inevitably become an opportunity for people to express their displeasure with Melissa McCarthy.

Good sign for the movie.
I'm sure the neckbeard crowd on Reddit is furious, which is a bonus.

Proof that this is not a reboot but a continuation of the series just like vacation

Bill Murray has no idea what made the original film funny.

Another no-talent idiot who thinks that Melissa McCarthy is funny.

Why can't they just remake the original with the original cast in their original ages with the original jokes? Don't we have computers that do that? I'm looking at you James Cameron.

But I thought they said they were going completely new? Maybe the continued negativity forced the producers to pay for Murray to get on board with the hopes to turn around public sentiment.

Actors from the original film or series appear in reboots all the time.

Lou Ferigno was in the Incredible Hulk.
Charlton Heston was in Burton's Planet of Apes.
Three members of the original Lost in Space cast were in that reboot.

Just means that Murray has given his blessing to the film and he's doing his friends a favor.

Yeah, what the hell does Bill Murray know about being funny?

Oh, now I'm definitely going to see it.

Just kidding. I will live the rest of my life and die never having seen it. I've kept that promise in regard to Batman and Robin, and I'll keep it again with this.

How much is it costing Sony to put Bill Murray in the movie for 5 minutes? I'm sure a lot. He'd be stupid not to be in it.

Probably not very much. Bill Murray is known for doing things for SAG minimum all the time.

This. If he likes the people involved with the film, he'll make himself affordable.

He offered to kick in money to help out the production of Rushmore, which would've meant that he'd have lost money by being in the film. Anderson wouldn't cash his check though.

No, the Bobby Brown theme song made that film great.

It will happen. Soon.

You would not believe me if I told you how much of Paul Walker in Fast7 was computer generated, or doctored together from previous movies/outtakes, in some form or fashion.
