Most are playing to make friends. Paul, Alex, and Cody are playing to win the damn thing, and CBS is stacking the deck for Paul to win it.

Paul just needs to straight up nominate Cody and Jess. Pawns at this point are ridiculous.. Cody tried to put him up so he has a great excuse. It wouldn't be a backstab

Paul just doesn't want Cody competing in the HOH because Cody is a comp beast. Plus he says Jess isn't his number 2, Ramses is (again, so he says).

I don't think they are stacking the deck for him to WIN it. I think they did just enough to keep him in the game on whatever terms / length of time he agreed to come back on (and all returnees have terms).
Lost in all this is the royal frick up that Cody did. He brought all this on himself by trying to take over the game in week 1.

Fair enough, but I think they went overboard with 3 weeks protection.

He fricked up, but how was he to know Paul had a secret, never before used, advantage? And even if he suspected Paul had won the Temptation, how was he to know it was such a powerful one? The first one was simply $25k. If Paul doesn't have that advantage, he likely goes home. Yeah, some of his alliance would have initially been pissed at him for not telling them, but enough would have come to their senses and gotten the HUGE threat out of the game. In that event, is it still a frick up? Likely a little as it loses him some trust, but I don't think it makes him the #1 target in the house. But again, I'm often guilty of overestimating the overall intelligence of people on this show.

It cost him his whole alliance. He couldn't even get out Christmas, so basically he alienated himself and Jessica for nothing.
Not telling even Mark and Matt was one of the worst game moves I've seen. Keep the trust even if they disagree. Cody ran HOH 1 like a dictatorship (complete blindside on top of his "private conversations"), and now he has no alliance.

I don't disagree with any of that. My point is, absent Paul's advantage, I think most would get over it and realize the threat Paul was and get him out. Even had he nominated Jason or Ramses after Paul pulled his advantage, I think he survives it. His crucial mistake was nominating Christmas, not Paul. And the Christmas nomination only happened because of Paul's advantage, that nobody knew about.

Paul returning did more to mess this house up than anything. Returning players are going to have Grodner and production in their back pocket. If Paul isn't there week one is extremely boring, I can admit that. I'm just tired of the over he top production interference for a player who doesn't need that much help.
Like last night. Does anyone here think production didn't know Paul was a favorite to win that HOH? It's a crapshoot to an extent, but they know his strengths and root for him to succeed for the sake of a ratings boost.

C'mon. That's taking the conspiracy theory a little too far. They knew Paul would get enough tickets from everyone to have plenty of time to figure it out AND that he was basically a ball-rolling physicist?

It happens every season. Paul is on that show in the first place. And he wins HOH. My point is the comps can be done in a way where production has too much control.
You think they're going to release a list of the order of comps prior to the season? No, because they don't know when any given fan favorite will need help.

Each HGs goes through testing before they're allowed to go in. Production knows who is good with memory. Who is more or less likely to be a threat at any given comp. That's not me speculating. That's just how BB works. Even more so with Grodner in charge.

I don't particularly like Paul and all his antics, but anyone that believes he lied or was dishonest since he didn't reveal that he had received the POP advantage would not make a good player. He has the POP and it is in effect regardless of what he wanted to do with it ... it's not like an idol that is optional whether he plays it. What Paul should have said, instead of gloating about it, was he never thought the POP would be relevant since he thought he had the trust of his alliance, so why would he reveal it and draw any attention to himself?
There are some really poor sports in that house that act like babies. Alex and Kevin are the only two that seem to have the mental fortitude for the game . . . shite happens, so how are you going to deal with it.

I'm on the fence on production interference in the challenges. I think they absolutely have certain ones that favor certain players, and have those challenges at a time beneficial to those certain players. It's still up to that player to actually win it though.
I don't think they did that last night though. Why would they? Paul is safe for another 2 weeks, so he really didn't need to win HOH. It is rather convenient he did win though.

Yeah it's bs that not only was he safe for 3 weeks, and he got to keep it to himself until he was nominated for evection, but he also can be HOH.

Not sure if it has been discussed, but some are saying that Paul's letter from home confused him in some parts and was odd...almost like his family was trying to send him codes/hints on players in the letter.
In letter they talk about his pets from home....and used pet names but it could reference players in house...such as "KING is old but very alert...we need to keep an eye on him"...they are saying this references Kevin in house.
Then in letter it says something like his "Boys" are all good. And Paul says "Whos my Boys?" Fans think this refers to Matt and Mark.
Paul is clearly confused several times reading letter and says "WHAT?!"
Time stamp 11:15 pm cam 1/2
Does seem odd and I can see how it is possible by the language used. Below is copy of his letter with codes.

I think this HOH has the best potential at blowing up Paul's game down the line. It was completely unnecessary for him to win tonight. I don't get why he can't just sit back and let the unprotected players go at it. Good potential for him to get HOHitis and alienate the people currently teamed up with him.

It was also good he won this one since he's safe next week as well and people can't retaliate against him next week. But he's also emboldened to how the house has reacted to Cody and Jessica, so it's likely a HOH that gets little blowback because most everyone wants one of those two out of the house.
I also think it's BS he has the protection and can still compete for HOH.
