re: Big Brother 19 - Season Long Thread

In past seasons, most of the action happened after midnight. Saw where they've instituted a no napping rule during the day rule this year, so that may change. They used to stay up all night, then sleep all day so the feeds were pretty boring during the daytime.

It was also good he won this one since he's safe next week as well and people can't retaliate against him next week. But he's also emboldened to how the house has reacted to Cody and Jessica, so it's likely a HOH that gets little blowback because most everyone wants one of those two out of the house.
I also think it's BS he has the protection and can still compete for HOH.
Very good point about having a week for things to die down (as opposed to winning the week immediately before he loses safety). Just seems like he was basically gift-wrapped a walk through to the final eight or so if he just sat back, enjoyed safety, and let everyone else in the house go nuts at each other (maybe stoking a few fires here and there, but not actively aiming to take anyone out).
Play that game and you can have people on both sides loving you and not even considering targeting you (maybe have to watch out for the first DE).
So much about that first temptation is bullshite. Look at the difference between the replace one of three veto players with yourself this week and three weeks of safety.
Next week's temptation is pretty huge too (can make the week a rewind at the HOH ceremony). I think it's fair to reason that Christmas or Kevin wins this week's temptation, so the other will probably win next week. So... let's say Alex pulls off HOH next week (assuming Cody goes home this week). She can get a showmance up there to eliminate, but then one of Paul's allies will likely force the rewind. Just wildly imbalanced powers.
Then, there are no repercussions for the person who actually has accepted the temptation. The negatives are felt by someone else in the house - so why would you ever not accept it?
Good cast, good first week; just see this one really taking a turn for season 16 territory with the way these temptations seemed to be positioned.

I saw the content of that letter on another site and it has to be code . . . who has that many pets all needing vet help at the same time! Also, I don't remember and letters about his pets last season. That was just too strange to start off the letter about all his alleged pets and then later reference his dad doing fine after knee surgery . . . or was that a reference to Christmas?

I think the letters are supposed to be written preseason now (which is super lame) primarily to prevent any sort of coding.

this is the silliest conspiracy theory I've seen yet. these letters are written before the season begins. Paul has a lot of pets

Seems like it would be like prison and production would read it and no way they'd let that through.

Just like no way production would hand Paul 3 weeks of safety?

To add to the conspiracy theory, Paul hosted this same challenge in BB Over the Top(the online only last winter.)

After Shane was evicted, the HGs were surprised by Paul Abrahamian from Big Brother 18, who was there to host the next Head of Household competition, in which the HouseGuests went to the backyard to compete in. Head of Household ("Perfect ShOTT"): The HGs had to search through a large pit of balls for balls which contained a token, and after collecting these tokens, had to use it to redeem red balls from Paul, which would then be used to roll down a winding board, in attempt to land the ball in a box at the end of the board. As Alex had won the handicap from the Veto for Sale competition, she had to wear a disorientating goggle, which would impair her vision. The first HouseGuest to roll a ball into the box would become the next Head of Household, and if no one could complete it within 1 hour, the game would have gone into a tiebreaker. However, Kryssie managed to roll a ball into the box before the time limit was up, and hence became the next Head of Household.

It's not like they don't reuse comps. Every time Paul does well in one are they going to claim it's a conspiracy?
Posted on 7/7/17 at 10:11 am to The Spleen
we must never speak of the Kryssie HoH ever again.

Probably. I'm not all in on the conspiracy theories, just adding some fodder. Also saw it mentioned on Reddit that this challenge was similar to the first HOH Paul won last season.
Still doesn't make sense to me why they'd rig it for him to with THIS HOH. Now, if it was the first one after his 3 weeks of safety was up, absolutely I'd buy it. This one just doesn't make sense.

well, he will be conveniently safe the week he comes off HoH.
I think I saw other HGs were feeding him tickets too, trying to throw the HoH to him, anyways.
So why are other HGs throwing their game to Paul? that's what should be being further examined.

He really does have a dog named King, and a cat named Buttons. He's talked about them before in the house. Plus the letters are written pre-entry into the house, and then something like several weeks before they are used later on in the season to rule out the possibility of a family member putting codes in it.
Now I will say is that it is true that Paul hosted a similar comp to this one during BBOT, and was also the winner of a ball rolling HOH comp in BB18. Now if I remember right, the ball rolling comp was a little different than this one, but still a ball rolling comp. So this was a comp that he had some experience with.

Why risk getting blood on your hand and not taking out your target, when you know Paul will do it happily. After how bad Cody's HOH went I would be happy letting Paul risk it for me knowing exactly who he is going after.

Not when he reads it in front of everyone. Think they'd let it be that obvious? Hell I don't know. I'm not so naive that I think prod doesn't influence the season, that just seems real obvious if it is code.

alright, i broke down and signed up for the feeds, but of course, everyones asleep. When is the best time for them?
They usually get up around 10:00 BBT, and go to bed around 1:00 BBT. Most good game talk happens late at night.
But you can always go back and watch anytime in the past. Like this morning I got up and watched most of the good conversations from last night. I use Joker's to determined what times to go back to in order to watch all of the good game talk.

I might be missing the point of having the feeds, but I'm trying real hard not to go down the black hole of watching feeds from the past. I have to get some work done!

Had the misfortune of watching this shite show last night. Please tell me sterilization is a requirement to be a contestant.

Without feeds you wouldn't get to see a percent of what happened last night. The tv show might show 5 mins of everything that happened last night, if that. But Paul went from wanting to nominate Matt and Raven, to nominating Kevin and Raven, to nominating Alex and Josh. And his conversations with everyone about those decision was great tv. The back and forth between his "team" over putting up Matt & Raven was great. And his convo with Alex was great. And Kevin was what you'd expect out of Kevin. But you won't see half of all of that on the show.
With that said though, yeah, it can take a lot of your time away once you jump down that rabbit hole.
