I would say the soundtrack should be as good today as it was than. This would take out Top Gun because if you listen to it now, it is pretty cheesy. Here is my list(in no particular order)
Less Than Zero
Forrest Gump
The Crow
Sat. Night Fever
Pulp Fiction
Leaving Las Vegas
Pink Floyd The Wall
Singles

I love that one too...Slayer doing "In A Gadda Da Vidda"!!
Only downside to that album is Poison doing "Rock And Roll All Nite".

a hidden gem of originals is 'Paris, Texas'. If ya like Ry Cooder it is deluxe.

Boogie Nights! Platoon had a good score in it.
No love for The Lost Boys or Over the Top? Shame!

Most of what I'm seeing here are classics compilation albums. I've always thought The Crow soundtrack was very good. Had some decent songs from bands like Pantera and NIN made just for the sound track, and I always associate STP Big Empty with the movie even though they used it on their new album at the time as well.
