LOST: "Through the Looking Glass" - For all the reasons stated above.
Friday Night Lights: "The Son" - Matt Saracen is truly one of the great sympathetic characters in TV history
South Park: "Kenny Dies" - the most dark and hysterical episode in that show's history.

The Vampire Diaries: "The Return" - This episode had everything that makes this show great in it. The introduction of Katherine, Elena's doppelgänger, is awesome. The Lockwood werewolf plot line begins in this episode with the first appearance of Mason Lockwood. Katherine reveals to Damon that she never loved him and when Elena tells him she also loves Stefan, Damon snaps and breaks Jeremy's neck. The episode ends with Katherine killing Caroline and turning her into a vampire.
This episode was packed with action and more than one surprising twist.

Community - "Zombie Attack" Halloween Episode!
The Office - Glorified Record Keeper episode where they do the funny bits from previous episodes but the kicker for me was the Pam & Jim part.

Hungry Man from Dexter.
The Thanksgiving episode from season 4.
Probably the most intense and well-acted episode of any show I've seen so far outside the Shield.
