Ben Mendelsohn is the most talented actor out there right now.

Tell me why I am wrong.

An absolute chameleon.

In just the last few years he has:

Owned a major Netflix drama in Bloodline playing a loveable loser, coke head beach bum.

He played the big bad in the best new Star Wars movie.

He shows up in the Best Picture nominee Darkest Hour as the friggin’ King of England.

You are on a movie/tv internet board at 11:30 on a Saturday night and you don’t know the name Ben Mendelsohn.

That’s a little weird.

While I’m not sure if I’m ready to bestow the praise the OP does.....him not being an household name aside, you’ve probably seen him in a few things just in the past year. Often plays the villain.

He’s underrated, but pump the brakes on most talented working right now

He also played the villain in Ready Player One. I don’t know about the most talented working actor, but he was the best part of Bloodline.

I like him. I heard Ann interview with him and he was very likable in an odd way. He came across as very...... average in intelligence in most regards. But he understood characters.

And he's willing to play difficult parts.

He played a role last year where he played a man who slept with an underage girl who grew up to still love him when he got out of jail. The movie is about the grown up girl is still in love with him and him having to convince her it's all sorts of ducked up

He's a great actor and definitely underrated, but Gary Oldman is still the best for me.

Oldman is a great actor. Hanks, Ed Norton, Leo, Willem Defoe, and Tom Hardy are really good, too

Just watched Mississippi grind on Netflix with him and Ryan Reynolds. Awesome gambling flick

He’s also great in killing them softly with brad Pitt and James gandolfini
