It's not going to be close, it's going to pass it up. with peace and love, just accept the inevitable.

Its going to our small 9 screen theater here in town now and I know itll at least make a couple hundred bucks the few weeks it there.

We'll find out real quick how much demand there is for this re release.

quote:

Starting Monday, major theater chains like B&B Theaters in the U.S. and Cineworld in the U.K. began offering tickets for showings of the new cut of “Endgame,” which features a previously unreleased deleted scene and post-credit tribute after the credits.

On Tuesday, Fandango and Atom Tickets started selling tickets for showtimes as early as 10 a.m on Friday. AMC Theaters told CNBC it expects to have the majority of its “Endgame” showtimes available for purchase by the end of the day Tuesday.

Captain Marvel is still in over 100 theaters in North America, so at least another two months

Things that most people will be happy to wait for when the digital copy is released... like every other dvd/blu-Ray/digital release of the last 20 years.

Friday #Box Office: The Much-Discussed #AvengersEndgame Re-Release Earned Just $1.87 Million Yesterday, Setting The Stage For (At Best) An $11 Million Domestic Boost via @forbes by @ScottMendelson

quote:

The much-discussed Avengers: Endgame reissue did fine yesterday, even if it didn’t really move the needle. It earned another $1.864 million in 2,025 theaters to bring its cume up to $837.645 million. We can expect an over/under $6 million weekend, which will be enough to push it to $842 million. If it plays like the recent reissue of A Star Is Born, which earned an additional $2.88 million from a $1.55 million “opening,” we’re looking at a domestic total of over/under $11 million.

Being forced to shed those screens in China cost this movie at least $25 million in gross. At least.

Why was it forced to lose scenes in China?

It wasn't forced. One month is all that China allows for foreign films. It ran it's one month and ended.

That being said usually huge films will get a one week extension. Endgame was denied probably due to the ongoing trade war. But as stated previously it was already slowing down quite a bit by then. Probably would have added about 5 to 10 million to the world wide total though.

For reference it made $630.69M in China. First Hollywood title to hit $400M, $500M, $600M marks.

They also lost a shitload of screens after its first two weeks. China is very protectionist when it comes to their film industry. They only let select blockbusters in and they are given limited time in theaters and only half with wide releases.

Disney greased palms to get in there.

It's got another 20 mil or so, domestically. It should easily pass Avatar now.

#AvengersEndgame doubled its thtr count adding new material and jumped back into the Top 10 with $5.5M this wknd + $2.3M intl. New totals are $841.3M domestic, $1.92B intl, and $2.761B global. It is now $27M behind #Avatar for #1 all-time at worldwide #boxoffice.
