lessen Reed Richards' part

Imagine saying that Reed Richards had to be scaled back in a movie with Doctor Doom. Maybe there's a plot where he's been sidelined somehow, which could be interesting, but I don't even think the writers would think to do that. They'd just have him orbiting Sue and only speaking when spoken to, or some such garbage.

Extremely doubtful. Pedro’s politics and outspoken views on social issues isn’t something new. He’s been that way for years and yet Disney still cast him as Reed Richards and kept him on for a Mandalorian movie.

If the Disney brass had an issue with it, they wouldn’t have cast him for MCU and could have easily recast his role as Mando since its a character that has his face covered by a helmet 99% of the time on screen anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's some rewrites to lessen Reed Richards' part. He was set to be the main character of Doomsday and now that Pedro Pascal is seen as more and more toxic, they might want to push someone else as the focus.

This is just the Movie/TV Board doing it's thing.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is now releasing on the same day as ‘Dune: Messiah’

Yeah, no way Warner allows Dune to be released on the same day as a new Avengers movie. Messiah will be moved back to 2027.

Why? Dune II basically grossed what Captain America and Thunderbolts combined did.

IMAX exclusivity. They all get a significant boost in revenue from premium formats. WB should have already negotiated for that weekend if they were serious about that release date.

Right, it’s not like they have 80 years of connective stories to use if they need to or anything like that.

“interconnected”

they start stop runs so often.

My hope is it gets moved up to October or November. If it gets pushed back to 2027 I think we should expect a significant delay. Denis wants that Director nomination after snubs for Part 1 and 2. Releasing it early 2027 would not be ideal for award contention.

There will be studies done on how Marvel shite the bed so badly after End Game.

Well for one thing, don't call it End Game if you plan on continuing the series. And for a second, don't make the movie feel like its the end of the series if you plan on continuing the series.

Hard to get fired up about something when it feels like the story has concluded.

We use to go to the midnight debuts of these films. I can't remember the last Marvel film that I saw in the theater. Probably Black Widow.

Because they're going to want the opening weekend to themselves. Marvel may be in the dumps, but people are going to go see a new Avengers movie, especially one with Robert Downey Jr.

Disney is more to blame, specifically Disney plus. Chapek demanded tons of content for the new streaming service and it's almost killed Marvel. Star Wars too.
