I think it's just best that they leave the series alone. I think someone could do it right but after TLA I would just rather they didn't. Why mess up a good thing?

currents. Granted the Firebenders that know this are few and far between,

Well we think that, but 50 years ago only 3 people in the world were known to produce lightning. Now enough people can do it to power a city.

Fair chance the # of people who can redirect has increased as well.

That's true but we just haven't seen any of them do it yet. I just don't think that Amon would equip his people with something that could be controlled by a bender though.

I wonder if Amon is the child of (or at least student of) Ty Lee.

We know that Toph was the first metal bender, and now her daughter runs a police force of metak benders.

We know that there were few lightening benders among the royalty of the fire nation, and now there are enough to power the city.

Ty Lee was the first chi blocker we were introduced to. I wonder if Amon could be her son who trained an army of chi blockers.

Really, its just a matter of time before they redo The Last Airbender. The ratings for Korra have so far been incredible, its the most DVRed animated series right now, and over half the fans are teenagers or older. They're going to notice this and hopefully treat the material seriously this time around.

The good news is the writers of the show said they plan on doing an Avatar film after they finish Korra (it will only be 26 episodes long), to where we may get an actual good film/trilogy if they head it up.

If they do it I'll be okay. It's their baby and they know the universe better than anyone. I just don't want the studios to make the same mistake of getting some big director who may not necessarily have the same appreciation for the series. Not to mention they shite the bed in almost every aspect of that movie, writing, casting, directing, effects, everything.

I would much rather see them do an animated movie that either stood alone or worked as a bridge between Korra and a new series. (If they choose to do another one.)

Loved the statue of the cabbage cart guy.
That family can't seem to catch a break if the Avatar is around, though they seem to have done well otherwise.

Great episode.

Not my Cabbage Corp!!

Another great episode. Not sure how I feel about metallic suits in Avatar. Seems like that should be a more cyberpunk Avatar than a steampunk version.

And is anyone else noticing the reoccurrence of firebenders murdering people in this series? A firebender killed Mako and Bolin's parents, Asami's mother was killed by one, and Amon claims his family was struck down by one as well (although I think he's lying about it). I think there's more to this than meets the eye.

I think Amon is merely using and manipulating Asami's story for his own means.

I think so too. I'm a Mako-Asami shipper, but her bumping into him was too convenient. She's either an Equalist or Amon's sister.

I too thought she was an Equalist, but I just don't see it coming to fruition at this point. She had her chance, to where I think that they would have somewhat hinted to the audience that she was an Equalist. Granted its still possible that this was part of the plan all along since Amon would very much want a direct spy for Korra. If she were a spy, I think they would have made it clear in this episode.

I wish there was a spoiler tag on here, it's so obvious who is actually the main bad dude on here.

Who? I don't think we've met Amon's secret identity yet. Tarlok is merely out for himself at this point and I think will be an severely corrupt villain who is on the verge of taking over the city. He's gotten Beifong out of his way, and now all he has to do is take out Tenzin in some way before he seizes total control over the city.

I'm thinking in the next few episodes all hell breaks lose and Republic City falls to the equalists.

Korra and the gang are forced to leave the city and go around like in the original series.

Thinking either Tenzin, Befong, or Tarlok will lose their bending also.

I really could see Amom using Tarlok as a pawn and casting him aside when/if Republic City falls. Much like when Azula turned on Long Feng

The season finally is going to be epic much like the end of Book 2
