I really could see Amom using Tarlok as a pawn and casting him aside when/if Republic City falls. Much like when Azula turned on Long Feng

Ehh, I don't see any reason Tarlok would work with Amon. Tarlok's power comes FROM the benders. He's pretty much the person Amon has in mind when he says that benders are abusing their powers.

Korra and the gang are forced to leave the city and go around like in the original series.

I really hope this happens. What would be good drama also if one of the Airbending kids is captured at the end of the season.

Met? No not yet.

BUT we've all seen the feathered hat man whether we realize it or not.

True, but Tarlok could be using Amon for a power grab. Such as have Amon take out the rest of the council so he can rule Republic City

Agreed 100% while Tarlok thinks he's using Amon in reality Amon is using Tarlok to force Korra out and take over Republic City.

Once Republic City fall he betrays Tarlok and takes away his bending. Amon then either kills Tarlok or just imprisons him

Well, yeah he is using Amon to gain more power. He got Beifong out of the picture and he doesn't seem to have any problems with getting the rest of the council to follow his lead. Its really just Korra and Tenzin that stop him from complete control over the city now.

In every single episode so far a background character has been seen pretty much following Korra, and sometimes other characters, around Republic City.

He is known as feathered hat guy on the Internet bc he wears a feathered hat.

Speculation that he is Amon seems unlikely IMO bc he just doesn't look like the fighter build, but his appearances seem much more than mere coincidence

Does no one else think Asami is Amon?

Thought it for a second when she took down her dad and the Lt. guy a little to easy IMO but now I think she is just a spy.

Wow, shite just got real. Best episode yet. Tarlok seems to be someone who needs to be taken down even more so than Amon does at this point. The only bender who would stand a chance against Tarlok right now is Katara herself, or if Korra becomes a fully realized Avatar of course. I don't see how you can't kill that guy though. He obviously can't be imprisoned if he can bloodbend his own guards at will.

The battle between them was probably the best battle in the show yet, despite it being so short. Loved how they used the bending with the car chase as well. Looks like next week will be flashbacks to the old Team Avatar. Very much looking forward to it.

Korra gets on my nerves at times. All that attitude and I can only think, "Quit being a bitch and kick someone's arse for a change."

She needs to have a little foray into the Avatar state soon.

The bloodbending was a great touch, keeps things very interesting. But you can stop him as long as you bind his hands or something before he started blood bending. Its not like he bends with his mind, he still has to do the moves. Plus unless I am wrong, they haven't shown a water bender blood bending multiple people at once (just Korra and Katara), not saying that it isn't possible, bending has obviously advanced by leaps and bounds since TLA like others have pointed out, but a team would have a good chance against him alone.

Not sure if Asami has been been a spy this whole time, but she could be converted easily, either swayed by her father, or pushed to the other side by Tarlok's extreme measures, or by something happening between her boyfriend (Moki? forget his name) and Korra.

Looking forward to hopefully seeing some old team avatar soon.

Have they said how many seasons or episodes this series will be?

Hama bent Sokka and Aang both at once. Plus I'm pretty sure that Yukone guy is a bloodbender and was bloodbending Sokka, Toph, and Aang all at once.

2 seasons. 12 episodes first season, 14 episodes second season, for a total of 26 episodes. Then they'll move on to making another Avatar film or series.

forgot about the blood bending, very cool.

We are going to see civil war soon between the benders and nonbenders because the nonbenders do not have a voice in the city and want one.

I'm just going to post this, not really a spoiler but my opinion, this is some star wars shite going on, amon is tarlok. it seems very likely to me, given that now tarlok is running the city and very obviously creating conditions for a war. I think that the flashbacks korra is having will show her some knowledge that ang had that will relate to the current crisis and help her solve it, but that seems pretty obvious.

Amon has white skin. Tarlok is brown. Amon is not Tarlok. Plus it seems that when they just approved of opening the arena, Amon was in one of Sato's factories preparing a shipment. I think Tarlok's and Amon's motives are exactly the opposite, aside from gaining power.

Anyone else notice how Tarlok's office looked very much like Ozai's throne room? Definitely really liked the lighting and bending in that scene.

when do we see amon's skin? if that's true then they are at least in league together, I don't see how tarlok is against amon unless he is just on an insane power trip and hoping to leverage the situation for his own good?
