Netflix didn't make this movie so I'm not sure what the OP is on about. This is a Spanish film from Morena Films released June 12th in Spain and coming to US netflix in December.

Since this has already been released, you can piece together the plot online. It is exactly what you would expect. His bigoted religious family rejects his "Identity." He makes friends with an engineer who advocates for him, but also they bang each other. The trans person leads a womens rights movement in the coal mines.
