First time watching the show? Best joke I remember off the top of my head is when Shawn said, "Wait. You're saying the dwarf... is still at large?? " Then puts his fist out for Gus to bump. If you've seen that episode, you'll know what I'm talking about. Otherwise you'll think I'm retarded.

Anyway, all I can say is that springing the connection between the Martells and the, well, you knows, was Fricking awesome.

I don't know if I've taken anyone's death harder than the red viper's. Why the frick couldn't they let this bad arse live?

I was also deeply hurt by this. That fight scene was the most tense part of the series IMO. I was on the edge of my fricking chair the whole time, and was hit by a tidal wave of depression when Gregor smashes his face in.

Don't. It is a great book.

You know that's right.

Favorite of mine, Lassie is talking shite to Ralph Macchio's character

Lassie: "you couldn't beat me on the court but now you're trying to beat me off?"

Shawn "you may want to rephrase that detective"

Oh and apparently Martin is writing episode 7 for next season and it's to be called "Autumn Storms". The hub bub is that it'll set up the RW with Arya being kidnapped and Robb's march to the Twins. So the RW could be episode 8 or 9.

I did the exact same thing. Martin intentionally didn't put her next chapter for a long time so I was getting nervous as I kept flipping more and more.

The span of RW and the Arya incident, is probably the most emotional I've been reading a piece of fiction. I was completely distraught.

It's so bad that I'm dreading going back and reading it. I'll need a blankie and a bourbon.

Agree on Red Viper. He was awesome and I'm not sure I totally buy him letting his guard down around The Mountain.

Who are they casting as the Red Viper next season anyway?

quote:

Speaking of, any casting news on Gregor? I hadn't read the books until after I watched season 1.

Rewatched the show recently and the guy they had cast as him in season 1 doesn't do him justice.

The guy in the second season is worse really. They haven't done Ser Gregor justice. Just an absolute animal.

Yeah, I haven't been that invested in a battle ever in a book. Found myself actually talking to myself somewhat.

I really doubt we see him before Season 4 if they're splitting up the book. Since he'll only be around for a short time I wouldn't be surprised if they cast big (Sean Bean-esque) and have the battle as a primary part of that season.

Conan Stevens (Season 1) was great, but he bailed to play Bolg in the upcoming Hobbit movies. Not much you can do about that.

I'm upset I couldn't experience that. Somebody spoiled the RW in a non-spoiler thread. If I saw him IRL, I would beat the living frick out of him.

It seemed most people had the Red Wedding spoiled for them. For me, it was just the fact that there is a wedding massacre where almost everyone present dies. I was thinking there was a chance of the Tyrells making a massacre of Joffrey's wedding, but I was beginning to suspect something was amiss with the Freys, so it wasn't a remote shock when it happened.

I came on here bitching about the same thing. Still haven't started Feast yet but the Red Viper death pissed me off the most in SOS. I was really pissed at the way it went down. One of the most badass characters in the books and he was only in a few chapters. Loved how he rolled up and was Tyrions equal in wit.

I think they do the Red & Joffrey's wedding in the same or consecutive episodes. I don't see anyway how they let Joffrey live after pissing off everyone with the RW.

The Red Viper's death became more acceptable for me after rereading ASOS. You pick up on some things he did while in King's Landing that weren't as apparent on the first read.
